In this video I will show you how to replace a shower head and change it out with a new one. In this video I will install a shower head made by Aisoso which I purchased off Amazon. This is a very quick and easy job.

☺Thank you for pointing out the "flat part" to place the wrench....That was Key to get the Grip, and easily unscrew without damage and or failure to UN screw the Shower Head. New Residence, I went for 6 weeks without use of my Shower FILTER (without that knowledge ) which is a necessity in California State that treats the water with CHLOROMINE a derivative of Rocket Fuel. Ruins one's hair making it Gummy & skin dried out!!! Thank you. Nobody else pointed it out...not at the harware store of contractor after showing pictures. God Bless you Sir.

Do you have to shut off your water supply before doing this? I tried changing mine and now water is gushing out.

You should not. As long as the handle is off, that valve should keep water from coming out.

Hi, have been living in an older apartment building for over 10 years. My unit has 6" shower arm with 1/2" connection with IPS thread and shower head with 1/2" connection with IPS connection. All new shower arm and heads I found has NPT connections. IPS connection and NPT connection do not match. But can I take out my current IPS connection shower arm and install NPT connection shower arm? Like I was thinking of getting rid of both the old 1/2" IPS thread shower arm and shower head first. And then install a new 1/2" NPT threading shower arm with teflon tape to prevent water leaks and NPT shower heads in their place. Is that possible if the wall holes accommodate? Is it even recommended to replace IPS shower arm with NPT connection in an older apartment unit? Can anyone please help with answers? Thank you

They make adapters. I would suggest going to a hardware store or calling a plumber and telling them exactly what you need. They should be able to find the right kind of adapter for you, so that you would not have to take out the shower arm. You could just use the adapter to connect the shower head to the shower arm.

My shower head is stuck how do you take one off like that?

You can soak it in a bucket or bowl of vinegar. For a showerhead attached to a wall or ceiling, fill a plastic bag with vinegar and secure it around the connector using an elastic hair tie. Let the showerhead soak overnight to allow the vinegar to work through the entire connector. That helps loosen up mineralization that could be locking it in place. After the soak, try to loosen the showerhead by hand or with a wrench. Hope that helps.

Nope, as long as it's shut off at the handle from getting to the shower head you should be good to go.

@@fixitFlip I received two rubber washers and it had a filter in there that looked like a washer. Do I use the filter and the washer or just the one the filter

Just one of the rubber gaskets that look like a washer, and the little screen. The extra gasket is for when the first one starts to dry out and leak. @@ericwatler23
