I have been working on guitars professionally for five years and I never thought of the tape trick. Thanks for a great video!

I know I’m late but are you still able to dump the bar even with a fat block installed? I feel like my cavity is small so if I added a fat block it’ll stop halfway before I could fully push the bar down.

Why is there a ground wire on the tremolo claw if they're active pickups?

Have you ever had a plate screw strip when you try to replace the block before? If so, what did you do?
@thegearghost35113 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the access cover or on the block itself? Are you meaning the head of the screw is stripped or the threads are stripped?

@@thegearghost3511 the allen key screws that hold the block to the plate. I bought a new trem, even my luthier could hack is way through them. They're sealed shut and have been screwed in for 15 years 😅

2 Things I do different is: 1. Throw out that extra metal shim between the tensioner and the brass block. 2. Drop in few drops threadlock liquid in the 3 brass block screw holes.

When I did this, the strings suddenly pulled the bridge way up and the only way I could get it back down was screwing the claw all the way to the body and adding a 4th spring

I had the same problem 😢

If the holes on the block that the springs go into are on the wrong side, that may cause this problem, try rotating the block so the holes are on the side furthest from the springs

Do they make a 34mm Fat Brass block
@yungnootswat4 күн бұрын
How did you change the inlays? Are they just stickers or paint? Also since the brass block is bigger does it limit how far you can divebomb or pull up the bar?
@thegearghost35114 күн бұрын
@@yungnootswat inlays are stickers, and larger block doesn't affect the movement of the tremolo

I’ve found you don’t need to put that plate back in and the brass block fits fine.

Use blue loctite on those screws. Don't use red!

JFYI: It's spelled, "TREMOLO", not, "TREMELO". Great help! Thanks for your input and instruction.
