@@stans5270 Stupid answer, it's cheap and easier to do both because if one is that bad the other is most likely just as bad. It is not a bathtub.

@@watermanone7567 Good answer. He should definitely do both at the same time. If one is that bad, the other is likely similar, and I was thinking he might have replaced them both. He probably just filmed one for us, and the other could have been done off camera.

Using a socket that is just a little smaller than the hole on one side, using the socket and hammer to knock the U joint cap down. Tip - use an old socket

Ben you are one multi crafted person, you don't know how much demand there is for maintenance technicians out there. Working under a vehicle is not for an old guy in his 70's, so glad there people that can do repair work on cars/pickups, etc., I would rather pay someone to do it for me. What is it that tells you your u-joint is bad? I am changing the pinion seal and flushing diff fluid this week. Wondered if I needed to change the u-joint also while shaft is disconnected? That was funny when Ben said we had to replace all those little pins in the cap. Thanks for your help all the time, Ben. Jesus bless.

I replaced both u joints, and I noticed one of the bearings on both ends just didn't want to go in good for the snap ring I had to grind the snap ring down to get them to fit

On an 06 I asked the dealer how to disable the ding ding for seat belts and all that annoying stuff. Said it couldn't be done. I disassembled the dash board just enough to remove the speedo and tach mounting board and found the noise transducer on the backside of that. Cut the copper strip that went to the noise maker. Took a couple hours to remove and replace everything and was well worth the time. Don't know if a 2020 is the same set up so hopefully someone can advise.

Yeah I agree with the guy says he's good at a lot of stuff but when he's doing automobiles he's not too good because if you watch the way he put the universal joint together the grease zerting is not right you're not going to be able to put grease in it because he's got to think angled the wrong way so yeah there is no way he's going to get in there to get that so he needs to turn it around and do it over again sorry bud

I caught that too. Also, while you have the driveshaft out, replace BOTH U-joints. They don't cost that much.

Non serviceable joints are the best just buy a good one from spicer. Install it and forget it for 100k.

How long does you joints normally last I have a two thousand eleven toyota tundra That I have done a lot of work to But the one thing I have never done is my u joints And there's roughly a hundred ninety thousand miles on the truck Is it something that you're supposed to replace every section such miles or do you just go into they break and what happens when they breathe does your Axel fall off. I'm just curious because that's something I have been wondering about.

i been beating on one of these for half the day an the f ucker just isn't let go i finally took a break an found this video to make sure im not missing something but im not. id like to set fire to this one but it dont belong to me so makes it that much worse when something that u normally expect to take a hour even if it dont go great an it ends up being a hole day ordeal.
