Great video. We installed radiant under floor heating in our new construction (basement and ground floor) several years ago and love it. Insulating below the floor after install is critical. Because our home still has some work left to do (we built it ourselves) we haven't insulated below the flooring yet and find that the ground floor zone ends up working extra hard and the basement zone doesn't contribute as much, due to the ground floor heat radiating to both the ground floor (through the flooring) and the basement by radiating down. It has no problem heating the house, but it will be much more effective once I insulate between the floor joists.

I'd like to see you add the Klein electrical safety screwdrivers to your list of favorites in your Amazon store. I just spent 20 minutes to figure out they were Klein. I'd like to get a set for those moments when a little extra safety just might save a surprise jolt.

What would the cost of repairs be if there were problems?

When you discard the old ways of doing things, somehow we find ourselves back where we started from! What you are actually building and demonstrating is the Modern Day Version of the Radiator! Every room in our old house had a Radiator or two in every room that was heated with a Boiler that was usually in the Basement. Our Boiler was Coal Fired🔥

Can we see how wiring the box goes? I'm inclined to cut off the main power before pulling and placing breakers + wiring them.

All I can say is if you paid that much for panels, you did not check out Signature Solar! 450 watt Aptos panel $176

I'm definitely aware that there are better deals to be had! This was meant to demonstrate how Ankers equipment performs when installed as they intended. I'll definitely be getting some more cost-effective options in the future.

Why are not you considering an rack battery? you can get 5.1kWh got $1200, this will be ready efficient and lower cost than many f3800. I am curious , i hope you can comment. Tks

Can the battery be charged with a gas generator through the Smart Home Panel or the AC input to the F3800 while powering the home through the proprietary connector? I know that the 240V NEMA output is disabled when charging through the AC input.

In every home in which I have worked for the last ten years in my state, every outlet is installed with the hot on the top. Same for commericial installations. We actually had a metal desk panel fall off from the underside of a desk, land on the outlet, pop the plug just enough to leave a gap, into which the metal panel made contact with the hot prong, and the desk itself, which was grounded. Result was a very startled worker and a call to the building electrician - and the fire department.

What is the Hose barb size connector for SDR 7 IPS PS24 ASTM02239 PS-11-69 3/4 IPS. 160PSI. Fresh water from water meter to the house. The OD of poly pipe is 1.075. Guess the wall is 0.100 . So the hole is apx 0.800. Do you use a standard 0.750 barb in it and pull the pipe down with a clamp? Or can you find a barb fitting that is oversized? Anyone have a source? Thanks.

The Type 1 SPD is allowed to be directly attached to you buss bar where the busses are attached the the Main Breaker and thereby not needing to take a space. If you get the SQ-D HPED80 the instructions will clearly outline how to connect a Type 1 SPD to the busses. All Type 2 SPDs must be connected to a two-pole breaker.

The exposed mains are no more "dangerous" (still 125V) - but they are definitely scarier because they are bigger!

Great video! You always have excellent quality audio - and I like your "down home" country-feeling. I also appreciate your little hints about the electrical code, and that you show things you find by accident (like the over-tightened clamp), how you can more than one ground under each screw, but only one return (white) wire under each screw. Good stuff! Hello from West Sacramento, CA. My Anker SOLIX F3800 with solar panels are being delivered on December 2nd. I can't wait!

Thank you Benjamin for the video/example. The Anker panel link you supplied is broken, would you recheck please? Would you share a diagram on how you connected the all panels in parallel for one of your XT60 channels? Which brands of Y branch and 3-way branch cables did you use? I have an F3800 with several panels and trying to see what I can do better.

Thanks for the heads up on the link. I'll check on that. I believe there is actually a diagram that accurately depicts the parallel setup that we used.
