I know this is an old video but can you compare this engine to any 4 cylinder Toyota has in terms of reliability? You see lots of youtubers bragging at how Toyota is the best but this engine to me is just as good. My G is 23 years old and engine performs like new. I do have the original plugs so this video was helpful. I see you have the original Mitsubishi distributor like I have. They last forever. I did change the valve cover but really didn't have to cuz there was only a drop of oil leaking. Got a made in Japan part and fit perfectly.

At 1:35 you show the wire harness cover. Mine doesn't just lift up, is there a trick to getting it out of the way?

it has plastic clips that you need un clip this one was broken that's why it came out so easy

I just did a valve cover gasket job on a G20 but inside the valve cover gasket that little plastic red breather thingy broke. That one area with a blob of silicone and one piece of plastic poking out snapped should I worry

Hi, great video, I have the same engine in my old nissan p11, when you put the joint sealant you have to wait 15 minutes before putting the cover and then when you finally tighten the cover, how long you have to let it dry to start the engine?... thanks for share it.
