It is advised to put small amount of RTV sealant at each of the sharp corners, and in back right where there is a small joint in the cylinder head. Otherwise these areas may leak. Also - I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus with the 9-bolt cover. Most of the available head gaskets for a "2004" 2.4L DOHC engine have four square corners. My Stratus (and the one in this video) require a rounded corner in back right for the gasket to fit in the groove in the head. I had to order a gasket for a 2003 engine; it fit the rounded back right corner.

I have an 01 stratus 2.4L and it's leaking from the oil pan the gasket and somewhere else I think, being able to watch this video gives me the confidence to do the repair my self so thank you kind sir.

Thank you I'll be doing this soon. Have the same car and just noticed oil on my threads of my plugs and it's been running not the greatest and I got the engine light so I believe this is my issue I'll be doing it soon thanks for the video much help

Can you share what tools you used? Need to se what you used to remove the back screws. Also, you didn’t use a silicone for the new valve cover gasket? Thanks.

If I remember correctly, I used a 10 mm ratcheting wrench to remove the bolts holding the coil on to the valve cover. I did not use any silicone mainly because I didn't see any traces of silicone from the previous gasket. amzn.to/2VNzctZ

I just checked a calculator on Google. According to that 105 inch pounds is 8.75 foot pounds. I just thought I would check.
