Great video!! I changed my alternator and serpentine belt in under an hour thanks to this video.. I would mention that a new alternator comes with a new 10mm bolt that you can use.. So you don't need the other one (in the video, it's the first bolt on the alternator he removed, 10mm under the rubber plug). A+!!!

What is that second wire called? Is it a the battery Negative connection? If not does it pass through a solenoid?

My alternator has the stud as the top bolt and the ones that match are on the bottom. Yeah, I am a little ocd.

My 05 Mountaineer was beeping and was flashing " CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM"

The battery charging meter on the instrument cluster/ dash will show low charging. It should be in the mid range or slightly higher is ok
