How to Replace Alternator 2006-2011 Chevrolet HHR

This video shows you how to install an alternator on your 2006-2011 Chevrolet HHR. The alternator in your vehicle powers the battery and electrical system while the engine is running. If your alternator is failing, you may wind up with a constantly draining battery.

just as an fyi, you can get this without removing the radiator hose. you will need to unclip and the hood strut on the right and support the hood with a prop on the left side. you'll have to finagle it a little bit.

Great video. I don't think I have the mental dexterity to change the alternator. I've already replaced my starter, it was working, then the next day the car keep shutting off randomly

If you are going in and removing those rusty hose clamps and filthy old hoses, just pony up the extra $20 and replace the clamps and those short pieces of hose, then be sure to clean the hose mating surfaces while you are at it! Quality shows and the lack of it when those hoses leak are telling. Don't cheap out like he did and leave old rusty hose clamps on old nasty looking hoses!

What adapter did you use to remove the belt tensioner. I tried everything but I can't find that part and I've been stuck on it for the last 3 hours
