I prefer to disconnect both of them, in this case i took out the battery for cleaning purposes. Thank you for the input, now a i realized that i should have said that you disconnect the negative side first and connect it last when you’re done. I’ll try to fix that, thank you so much.

I’m glad it was useful. Find the portion of the belt that is stretched the furthest between two pulleys, push it with a finger, the belt should have about a half an inch of play when at the appropriate tightness. I’ve never had any problems utilizing this method. But if you want you can loose it a little bit more before it squeals. Thanks for the input

Not too tight, you can check the belt pushing with your finger, find the longest run of belt between pulleys and push the belt, it has to give way like a half inch.
