Brother you are saving my BACON. I got my first day of work at a new place tomorrow morning and i have to skip the faniky Easter function to fix my truck. Didn't really wanna see them anyway so this is a welcome excuse. Cost of labor I'm saving is gonna cover the cost of parts, so I'm looking at it as a win-win-win.😂

That was wonderful. I am going to put my own alternator in today. What a wonderful wonderful nicely done visually the way you explained it. Everything about it was wonderful. I have a 1999 Ford Ranger. It was shorting out other things. I’m still not quite sure if possibly that will cure it all, don’t know if there was something else draining my battery, but I’m going to hold onto the positive. Very good. I have same 2000 Ranger. Same problem Edited. Replaced alternator in about 30 minutes. I made me a fan belt idler wrench out of 1” x24” flat steel & short 15 MM socket cut shorter . Impossible to get ratchet or other wrench in there. Can rent one from auto one.

I’m driving with no worries now! Thank you very much! I had an issue where, once installed, the vehicle wouldn’t start and instead made a bunch of clicking sounds. If anyone else encounters that, just jump the vehicle even if it’s a brand new battery. That’ll solve the issue and it’ll be good to go.

Usually clicking sounds with a good battery can usually be the solenoid on the starter. Replacing the starter would usually fix the problem. I had a vehicle that had that issue and would only start with a battery charger. Turned out to be the solenoid on the starter was shorting out.
