Thanks! Your video was very helpful and made the swap uncomplicated. Also no more TRAC & ABS light on the dash. Seems to be a common theme in our cars. Those systems can turn off (as in my case) when there's not enough power from an old alt. 👍

@@speedkar99 If I ever have to do it, I'll let you know. The best solution I've read (probably on toyotanation) is you have to remove the cooling fan assembly and the top radiator support, then lift the radiator up and back a few inches. Others say you have to drain the coolant and remove it completely.

A cordless impact saves SO MUCH time. I can troll the scrapyard all day with just one fully charged 3Ah battery, even with my older DeWalt brushed-motor impact. In fact, if I had to do it again, I'd buy an even smaller impact. Makita used to have one with a 3-cell magazine-type pack like the Milwaukee M12, which I used and was excellent. Most contractors still shunned 12V* tools as wimpy, thereby relegating them to DIYers who now sell them cheap on Kijiji. Being a "dumb" battery, the cells are also easily replaceable with any 18650 of sufficient power density (current rating). *10.8V nominal, of course..."12V" is marketing trash!

Was there no need to sand the alternator connections? And why didn't you check the battery volts after replacing alternator? some people apply silicone paste or petroleum jelly on the battery's terminals as an extra layer of protection.
