The the belts in the old ferd are busted. thanks for the video it was very helpful. this looks like something I can pull off after work before it gets dark
@TheMinuteMasters5 жыл бұрын
tubeyourself No problem!🤙 Glad you liked it! Honestly, the new belts were a huge improvement. You don’t realize how awful the old seat belts are until you have new one. The big plus is they retract and get out of your way. Anyhow, you can definitely do this as an after work project! Good luck!

Where can I find the mounting bracket to hold the ratcheting portion of the assembly?
@TheMinuteMasters9 ай бұрын
So you need the mount for the ratcheting device that coils up the seat belt?
@cdcox9 ай бұрын
Yes sir. I ordered a set of replacement belts, but mounting hardware (brackets) weren’t included. I considered cutting off the brackets from the previous set, but wanted to explore other options first.

@@cdcox I’m not sure where you could buy those brackets. I would try to remove and reuse the original ones.

@@TheMinuteMastersI’m a step ahead. I used my angle grinder yesterday to cut off the forward face of the original bracket. I performed a test fit and it sits perfectly! I bought size appropriate stainless bolts and nylon threaded nuts (.65 per item) to attach the new belt apparatus to the old bracket. I’ll be completing the install today. Wish I could add pics for your viewers. The cut off was extremely simple, but not enjoyable unless you love the aroma of burned plastic and sparks. Thanks for your time with this. I’ve relied on your channel greatly while updating my 95 F150.

Okay Stevie.. You've had these seat belts in for quite a while now. What is you review of them at this point? SInce you didn't install new sleeves (the plastic portion covering the webbing that keeps the ends right where you need them) on either belt is that an issue? Were they the correct length? Webbing holding up?

Hi Robert! Yes, good reminder that I need to film a follow up review video. I’ll add that to my list of video ideas.🤙

Will these work with a 93 bronco?
@TheMinuteMasters10 ай бұрын
I don’t see, why not. But I would try looking around for Broncos specific seat belts from the same website I bought those from.

Wander if this is any different in my ext can? My lap belt is almost about to break in two pieces and how much I’d have to remove to get the “new”/used” replacement in

This is the Driver side belt to the whole thing is almost in half
@TheMinuteMasters6 жыл бұрын
Ethan Copple I think the seat belt retractor is in the rear pillar. I haven’t looked inside an extended cab in a while. It could be too much to pull out. If your seat belt is that bad, it just worth replacing all of them. I love my new seat belts and this is nothing like new retractors.

@TheMinuteMasters4 жыл бұрын
I believe I bought these belts from Bronco Graveyard.com. Otherwise, stock interiors.com sells a lot of parts like these.
@joedirt70916 жыл бұрын
Believe or not ford still sells new old stock originals on their website but there is no way going to fork over $500 dollars to ford for new old stock seat belts. So i went down to my local pick pull junk yard pulled another seat belt for about $20. dollars.
@TheMinuteMasters6 жыл бұрын
Joe Dirt I saw the first half of your comment and I was like “No way, why didn’t anyone tell me!” But then I saw $500! Lol Yeah I would have considered that but I wanted new retractors too. If I was in a pinch, I’d definitely go with your advice and pluck one from a junkyard!👍

Torque specs?
@TheMinuteMasters4 жыл бұрын
Good question! I don’t recall there being any torque specs. To be honest, as long as it’s tight enough to hold them bracket down you are good.

It sounds like one of the internal mechanisms is broken. If you can disassemble the buckle, You might be able to fix it. Otherwise I would look into buying new seatbelts.

Jacob L Thanks man! When I did the seat belt swap, what I really needed was new retractors. However, I have to say the new buckles have grown on me. Not to mention, I don’t have to explain how to buckle the seat belts to people. Honestly, pretty funny how people couldn’t figure out the original seat belt buckles. Lol
