Anything needing to be changed this often should be easier to get to. The engine air filter, on the other hand, is so easy even I can do it!

Thanks for the video! We did encounter an electronic box that had to be partially unplugged and it's bracket removed (12mm) before we could get to the air box door.

🙂 Thanks for the video. I found that my upper filter didn't click into place and had to be held carefully while I finagled the other filter into the bottom slot to keep the upper one in place. Once I did that, the bottom one slid right in. I had to disconnect a few things to get access to the filters, but I finished the job with only a broken plastic screw-clip. I found one that worked in an assortment of automotive fasteners I had "just in case" the day would ever come when I might need one of those things. Now I only have 599 fasteners left. :-)

Theirs a fuse box under the first cover for the 08 Mazda 3 S 2.3L. That was so hard to remove, because i don't think it ever was removed. It's 2022 and I have I got this car 3 years ago. I think I had a small squirrel living there before 😂😂😂.

I have done this several times over 10 years and 100000 miles and still have the hardest time getting the top filter element to STAY in place while I slide in the lower one. What is the TRICK here!

This doesn't match my 08 Mazda 3 at all. The top screw is hidden way up behind another panel.

Yeah I just did this job today for the first time on my 08. Oops! You have to remove the fuse panel and the bracket behind it to properly remove the top two screws and then slide out the filters.

I have a 2008 Mazda 3 and it was definitely not that easy as shown in your video lol. Also my top filter does not want to stay up out of the way every time I push it up there it drops right back down. There's always gotta be something!

This guy must have the passenger door removed in order to get his whole arm under there! Very tight spot! Why doesn't Mazda just put the filter behind the glove box like everyone else? I had to use a screwdriver to reach back and press the tab on the blower motor plug in order to get it to unclip - could not do it with my fingers at such an odd angle. Had a lot of trouble getting upper filter to stay up so I could put lower one in. Ug - This is a once every 5 years procedure for me!
