I had to take my car to the dealership yesterday August 3, 2024 for an oil change. they informed me I was also needing a engine air filter and cabin air filter replacement. both those items they were going to charge about 80 dollars. I replaced the Engine air filter that I picked up at Auto Zone for 20 bucks. but not the cabin air filter because I did not know how to install that filter until coming across this video.

$69 at Mazda. This is an easy one. I had a 2012 Mazda5 and the filters were way up under the dashboard. You had to blindly stack one on top of the other. You needed an offset screwdriver to remove the cover. What a knuckle-buster. I changed it once.

I think that you,'re missing a step in the video. Before one pushes the sides of the glove box together to lower it, there is a damper/clip on the right side of the glove box that needs to be disconnected. See other Mazda6 video by Striker 50 on this topic for more details. At the end of the process that damper/clip needs to be reconnected.

Yes. Any auto parts store should carry the filter. You can just walk in and tel them what car you have and they’ll give it to you. I usually get my parts of rockauto.com because that’s where i get the best prices.
