Thank you SO much for this video! I was about to change my climate control module...repair is exactly as you said..except I had to jack up the radiator to see the snap rings through the grill..tedious job but a real money saver. Cheers from Tennessee. R.

Great video!! It helped me to replace my X5 E53 clutch coil without removing it from the car. The third back side bold on the compressor is a pain, you will have to remove the steering rack in order to remove this bolt as it is not accessible otherwise. Therefore I didn't removed the compressor bolts, I just removed the radiator fan made some room and used a small snap ring plier and a telescopic mirror to remove and reinstall the snap rings after replacing the clutch coil. Thanks a lot!!

Where can I get a new/spare coil? All I can find are complete compressors. Very good video btw.

@@kyhomegarage3430 found it by now. The coil itself is used by multiple compressors, even mercedes ones :) If anyone else wonders which one it is, google: EAN: 8718042049902

I think it's the same as for E36 1994 ... I know it sounds weird but I'm sure it's close enough.

Looks very like '97 E36's M43

Hello, what size is that socket you used to tap back in the pulley?

Well, that might be great then. My problem is I cannot get the clearance, or reach, or the heavy duty part for this application. So frustrated. I am on the 3rd set of ring pliers for the coil. Argghhhh.... I will check out this brand. Thanks...
