Have a 92 silverado that surged really bad in cold weather, was told it was a cracked intake manifold, replaced the coolant sensor and haven't had an issue since, for 40 bucks it's well worth a shot. Might be lucky like me

If you have a 96 5.7 vortec, you might have the same problem I did. There was a metal line in the way preventing me from getting to the sensor with my ratchet. Go to autozone and get a pivoting 3/4 or 20mm and you should be able to get the sensor out.

It's also important to know that the sensor grounds itself into the intake.... So make sure your threads are clean...

They have 2 temp sensors don’t be fooled the other one is driver side on the side of the block

I not sure but I think it has another cts on the driver side by the exhaust

Yea it’s another sensor for the coolant, but I believe it controls the guage reading while this one is more computerized and sends information of how lean or rich to run

Yeah sometimes my truck starts right up and sometimes it fluctuates I already got the sensors but I’m busy working on my 92 paseo. Gas is almost 5.00 a gallon

There is another sensor on the right hand side by the #1 cylinder that controls that guage

I changed my left one by the driver side bc it was reading to cool when I knew it was way hotter , now it’s reading all the way hot so know I need the sensor on top

Is it possible rewire a 2 pin connector in place of the the old 4 pin connector? Because I can only find a 2 pin temperature sensor. I can’t find a 4 pin temp sensor anywhere for my car. 1993 Chevy corsica. If you have any advice I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you
