No Wrong. Temp sensor located near top hose on intake manifold. You just change temp sender for your gauge and by the way the single wire plug won't fit that sensor. Good Video

These GM trucks have two coolant temp sensors one on top and one on the side the one on the side works your gauge so if you are having temp gauge issues the one on the side is the one you want to investigate. Thermostat issues check the top one

JBFisheris correct. 5.7L Chev has a sensor and a sender. Google TS4019 and TS4052SB. One sends temp to the gauge on the dash. It's between the spark plugs and has a connector with a mail post and a mail blade. The other one is on the intake manifold and it talks to the ECU/ECM computer. The ODB1 code 15 is fixed by the intake manifold part.

Idle is the I.A.C (Chapter 6 of the Haynes Manual). E.M.C gathers information from all sensors and then proceeds to use the I.A.C (Idle Air Control) to operate the air fuel mix for idle. Best thing to do is plug in a O.B.D and retrieve codes (if service engine light is on). Quick way is go to used parts yard and ask for one and replace. About 6 bucks (In Canada). Good Luck!!

Please fix the title/description of this video. A COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR is *not* the same as a TEMPERATURE GAUGE SENDER. SENDERS are for gauges; SENSORS are for the ECM (computer). This video has nothing to do with the CTS. All you did was change out the unit that controls the temperature gauge reading in your dashboard. The CTS is on the top-front-center of the engine next to the thermostat.

@@clayturner4579 yes if you are replacing the temp sender unit and have an idiot light and a gauge you will install the 2 prong sender but if you only have a idiot light then you will install the 1 prong sender. Just look at the plug it will let you know which sender you need or pull the sender out and see how many prongs it has. If you are replacing the coolant temp sensor by the thermostat it will have 2 prongs always and looks almost like the temp sender and the plug will actually plug into the sender if you mix them up and put the sender into where the sensor belongs, I believe the threads are also different but the strong arm people will make it fit if you know what I mean but the plug for the sender will not plug into the sensor because the plug is a little larger for the sender unit.
