I now put the shower nozzle at 7ft above pan. Seemed high, but this was in an apartment. First couple to look at the unit was so impressed. The wife was 6'2" tall and she was ecstatic to have shower nozzle this high.

Nice video. I am wondering whether the CPVC is capable of sustaining a heavier shower head, like the square rain shower head.

I guess it depends how it’s supported. If you get one of these amzn.to/4brt8cg and then attach a metal shower arm then all your weight is translated on the screws in the brass piece so it should be fine.

Can I install a Huntington Brass Shower Valve using all PVC without securing the valve to something behind the wall?

I would try to secure it to the wall in one way shape or form. You don’t want the valve to be loose and break inside your wall.

Great video👍 i just did the plumbing in my mothers bathroom shower and i ran everythjng 1/2” copper to a kohler 3way diverter and temp valve at the instruction of kohler and now i have low water pressure in the raindrop showerhead and the wall showerhead… any ideas? Also i spoke to kohler and already took out the flow restrictor in the temp valve at their instructions…

I know some shower valves have separate shutoffs so that you don't have to turn off the main water valve. Maybe your valve has them just make sure they are open all the way.

@@Daddicated after your comment and speaking to kohler i messed with the stops this temp valve has and found iut they werent open all the way. The markings on them are decieving. Anyways i now have full pressure… thanks again👍👍

I've learned to never screw plastic over brass. Better to use a female brass and screw male cpvc inside brass female. Screwing plastic over metal can work if your careful but it will - over time - crack in about 25% of the time.

Try your local hardware store. They sell them at our local home depot and lowes. They look a bit more yellow piping.

I would never recommend using teflon tape in the walls. Pipe dope always ensures a dry connection, while teflon absolutely must be used the right way for it to seal.

@@Daddicated, If you're just remodeling a bathroom then the amount of copper you have to solder is minimal. But even then, pex is much better to work with.

@@rnb4good PVC is not allowed for potable water in most areas (but some). CPVC is, however it's garbage IMO. Use PEX, Uponor would be my choice. Of course you'll find negative information about anything and everything if one goes looking.

@@jeffm2787 Schedule 40 PVC is allowed here and yes everyone has there opinion negative or positive. Most house here have galvanized piping which is the worst when your city is by the sea. I have a house older than 20 years that has no problems with pvc. So I'm speaking with experience not just to give a comment with no stability.

This is a false statement. It will never be outlawed. It should not and has never been approved for specific applications. But to say ot should never be used or will be outlawed is incorrect. It's better in specific situations than any other type of pipe options.

Nice video, please for the sake of us x-plumbers, make sure you turn your channel locks in the right direction. You had them upside down when screwing the 1/2 in female adapter onto the body of the shower valve. Even in TV commercials this drives me bonkers. LOL This didn't really matter in this installation, but when tightening a finished product your grip will slip and you will end up damaging the finish.

You don’t know what you are talking about. Only leak I ever had was from copper. Yeah…what water supply you have matters but you have no clue so you immediately start saying how cpvc is inferior. Try copper pipe with reverse osmosis water and let me know how it goes. Look inside of his copper pipe and you will see all the green corrosion. Copper is not the best in every area, cpvc is not the best in every area and pex is not the best in every area. Do some research.

OK, so you get rid of copper piping that is solid that almost never ever ever leaks to replace it with plastic that eventually wears out and does leak our brakes so you break a line from the cold or whatever depending on where you live in America or any other country for that matter if it’s cold or hot secondly, you decide to use a metal head on it because you say this is gonna strengthen it and make it stronger to keep it from leaking. Why didn’t you just leave the copper the whole wall out cut it up put some solder on it today why would you change something, that is less superior
