Someone else installed a valve set before I bought my house and they used the PVC but the PVC elbow was cracked and so water was leaking inside the wall and down into the hardwood flooring. It caused $7000 worth of damage and it was caused by someone leaning on the tub spout and cracking that fitting so I wouldn't use PVC on the tub outlet.

What did u replace it with ? PEX also has the chance to leak, copper is best but $$$. PS: CPVC is used for home water, PVC is used elsewhere, sprinklers, and the like.

The manual for my new assembly says NOT to use CPVC between the valve body and faucet, I guess this is why.

My manual for Koler, says to only use 1/2" copper for tub spout to valve connection, otherwise water will come out of the shower head when using the faucet and vice versa.

It’s a galvanized steel nipple screwed into a CPVC elbow.

Yes, put a normal (male/ female) adapter, a short nipple with a cap at the end.

Just curious, I didn't see you twisting any of the fittings before you set them in place. It's a pretty important step. Spreads the adhesive through out the joint. Maybe you were just didn't look like it. Nice walk through though!

I have never seen anyone using PVC pipes for high pressure waterline (up to 80 psi). It's always copper, pex, or CPVC pipes.

I used cpvc. PVC pipes are white ones and they are not available in the size I demonstrate in the video (0.5in)

🚨 GUYS, WATCH OTHER VIDEOS, this one has million incorrect moves. 1. If you’re installing Delta valve, there are a certain depth. 2. Here you must apply pipe dope, not teflon! But even you decided to use teflon, apply it clockwise for god sake! Who doesn’t know it already. 3. When you’re connecting pipes and fittings, turn it 1/4 4. Turn your pipe cutter, when you cut, you’re squeezing pipes. 5. Use gloves and eye protection 6. Maybe there more, I couldn’t finish:(
