In today's video I replace the crank seal in my Mitsubishi Evolution X SST. I share some tips and tricks on how I was able to do the job without the specialist Mitsubishi tool.

For future entusiasts. Instead of making a tool, put the car in gear and ask a friend to step on the brake. or put a beefy screwdriver or a hex key into the brake disk vent holes it will get jammed into the caliper so the crank will not move.

Did you cut the wheel arch liner for clearance or is it just damaged? Will that radiator/ cooler be ok with constant debris hits from the tyre?

I assume its worn away by stretching at speed. Yet another thing to fix 🙄🤣

What are the dimensions of that seal?

IIRC that bolt has to be replaced with a new one as the torque is set so high that the threads are past the elastic zone . And BTW it should be tightened with the method torque+ angle (sooo scary to hit that last angle... 😧)

polik971 i did try to source a replacement bolt but could not find one. Its got to be better than just using a rattle gun 😁

Negative. Can use the same bolt. Its not a stretch bolt.
