Hey there!! I’m having the same exact issue with the same exact vehicle. I was wondering if you cleaned the grounds and that fixed it? I was unsure what you ended up doing to make it run. If you could let me know I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

To isrealcruz7555(I'm sure figured it out by now) and anyone else having the Crank, No Start issue. I figured mine out. Apparently, it is a common failure. I was very close to replacing the fuel pump. But I'm glad my head overrode that. I purchased a fuel pressure guage and found there was no problem with the pump at all. I may replace it anyway. It's a 20 year old truck with 210k miles. Why wait for it to fail? But I digress... I tested for spark(where I should have started before the $150 tow bill😢). No spark!! This was due to no ground to engine harness for coils(possibly other things too). I grounded one of the coils and it started right up. That ground is shared. The ground wire in question is located on drivers side of the block just behind the PS pump. It's labeled in a diagram I saw as G102 or ground location 102. Anyway, I couldn't see the location of the eyelet from underneath. But I did locate a single loomed, small guage wire going in that direction. From underneath, I gave it a little tug and with very little resistance it came right out. I'm glad that was the right one. 😅 I extended it with a new eyelet and ran it up to the accessory drive bracket in the lower of the two bolts that hold the power junction bracket on. That's the red plastic box at the driver's side front of the engine, just above the PS pump. All is good now! I believe this will pretty much last forever! 😊

Thanks for the video post, Im guessing the only problem was the broken middle wire of the crank angle sensor plug? Maybe the old crank angle sensor and jump start battery pack may have been ok. It would be interesting to see if it would start with the old sensor, and battery jump start pack to isolate the problem

So is the cluster plug and play? I thought when you change cluster u have to do something to the ecu/pcm so they will work right with each other. Like have your actual milage on the replacement cluster. Well thats what i was told. Can i do this too? My speedometer is not working and dont have money for the shop to do it.

You can disassemble the clustee to swap out the stepper motors. There are some people that do entire refreshes on these GM gauge clusters. I know that GM is friggin proud of that cluster. They are nearly $600 new, LKQ sold me two of these clusters and it was $65? I wanna say? One somewhat major issue would be not knowing how to solder. You would need to de-solder and clean the9

John d. You have a cylinder 6 misfire? I’m asking because I’m having a problem figuring out my cylinder 6 misfire. New plugs, coils, injectors, wire’s, new fuel pump, egr, o2 sensors. Light blinks at idle only! Drives great has power I have been fighting this issue for a long time. Thinking maybe cps but I doubt that’s the problem. Just recently it has not started right away. But it does fire after I give it gas! It has a new filter also.

The only hot wire on the starting relay pin 30, it stays hot regardless, but none of the other pins go hot when I turn the Ignition switch, can't seem to find the wiring diagrams on line so not sure whats wrong?

Go on Amazon and order the ignition coil harness, it's around $30-$40 bucks... I've had to do that on a few of my customers vehicles... Sometimes there are breaks inside the insulation that can cause a weak connection...

So was it a ground that was making the injectors not fire? What was causing the injectors to not fire? If it was a ground, which ground wire was it and its location. Im having the same issue with my 2006 cranks no start but starts with starting fluid and dies. I am changing the CPS now but if it doesn't pulse the injectors after then I need to know if it was the grounds.

@@timmybangs4711 I fixed the issue guys. It was the ground wire for the coil harness going into the coils!!! 1. Check for the ignition coil harness on each side of engine. There are 2 in total. 2. Disconnect HARNESS and check all terminal openings , you will see terminal openings for pink and black wire and others but only care about the pink and black. Check the black one (negative ground) with test light, if you do not ight up then the ground for your coils have broke...the ground it runs off is the same as main battery ground so you can trace it back if you want....I didnt I just installed new ground on the black wires in each harness. Took me under an hour and 2 buck fix!!!!

@@zsproshop I suppose it depends on the circumstances. After what I went thru yesterday to replace the crank and cam sensors on a 2000 5.3, it was nice to just pull the new ones out of the box. There isn't a salvage yard around here for miles either. Turns out the #7 spark plug was shorting out on the metal sleeve that goes over the boot. Looked like the plug had a black lightning bolt on it. Put a good used one in there and she hauled ass. It definitely needed those sensors tho...
