Andrew, you are an inspiration because of the way you analyze a problem and then go ahead in a calm manner and make the repairs. Yes, a video showing a generator rebuild and installation of new wiring would be nice to watch.

Have to say you are one bright young man, found your channel a few weeks ago and it’s great watching you repair all the different equipment. But the tractors by far are my favorite. Please keep the videos coming.

Thanks Andrew. I just bought a 1947 Farmall B, so I'm just beginning the process to restore it. Luckily, the engine is free, and the transmission appears to be okay. But I won't know about the clutch until I get it running. I'd definitely like see one of these re-wired with the generator.

Does my heart good to see a B taken care of my grandfather gave me one in 1959. Did you know it's called a Culti-Vision, because you sit right over the row you are cultivating in the time before herbicides mechanical cultivation was all we had.

I love the gas tank strapped to the tractor wheel, I've never seen that one before. Great video. Not sure I would have ground a slot in that shaft though, should have been possible to insert it without.

I love it! Here I am, reflecting on some of the stuff my buddies and I did in the early sixties, (not mentioning the numerous failures!) And here's Andrew and Dad restoring vintage tractors from that era and earlier! I can now live the aged iron experience vicariously! One hint on gas tanks (yes, the nuts and bolts burnishing does work. However, I would suggest using something other than gasoline, like perhaps the Citric Acid and water mix. Leaks can generally be repaired with a LARGE soldering iron of about 400 to 600 watts. When not using a flame of any kind, the chance of an explosion are nearly eliminating. And, general purpose silicone is not resistant to petroleum products. And by the way, reflecting back, I saw you brushing on Permatex #3. It is what the old timers called "gasket shellac". Right stuff for many jobs!

Nice work young man. I have a channel where I post videos on car restoration. Resto-Rat. Now getting Into some tractors. Starting a B. Need to fix rear axle leaks. And was thinking of splitting tractor to paint and check clutch. Very helpful. Seems you need to but two all direction castors on your c-channel. I am 62 and started restorations when I was 13. So keep up the good work.

Enjoyed your rebuild. I like watching your work. I’ve got an A that has a bad freeze plug. I think I’ll have to split the tractor in order to put in a new one. Haven’t done this before so need any help or suggestions you might offer. Thanks for your interest in old tractors.

When ur joining the 2 sections together if the shaft doesn’t quite line up with the flywheel, try getting a pry bar or something and spin fly wheel where starter motor is or in your case where every there’s a cover or an opening while pushing the 2 together that’s what we do on both old mf 135 or the newer tractors

Use muriatic acid to clean the tanks, it will remove the rust and etch the metal, then use a gas tank sealer
@thesmallenginekid11 ай бұрын
You have to be careful with tank sealer, a lot of times it will peel off and end of making the tank worse after a few years.
