Couple of things for a novice: 1. Pump the brake pedal several times after completing the job to extend those caliper pistons. Otherwise you will run into whatever is in front or back of you. 2. Forcing the old brake fluid back into the master cylinder when compressing the caliper pistons can damage the master cylinder. Best to break the caliper bleeders loose to allow the fluid to escape. Easy to bleed when done. It's a bit messier, but a lot cheaper and easier than replacing a master cylinder.

Ok. So rotors I ordered don't look like what you showed and they don't look like my old part. They don't have any air fins. Did something change?
@JhayBeFreestylin2 жыл бұрын
I bought a set of rotors from your guy's before and all 4 of them weren't even shaved down I had to take them to orielys and have them resurface them.

Good Day, I have a 2013 Ford Escape, are you aware of any changes made to the brakes. I was told that I will need a star socket to change them.

Do you have to take of the brake fluid reservoir cap before starting, to relieve fluid pressure?
@stupid20kid5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it makes your job easier once you have to compress the piston(s) in.

Is this same for 2017 Ford explorer?

+James Mellon This video is only correct for the 2011-13 models. This procedure might be different for your application. We do not currently have a how-to video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking! 1AAuto.com

Where can I find the torque specs for the break calipers for my 2015 ford explorer.
@1AAuto5 жыл бұрын
+aahl2000 Thanks for checking us out. We would suggest searching through your owner's manual, searching for a Hayne' manual for your vehicle, or contacting your local dealership for this information. 1aauto.com

Whats going to happen if i dnt spray brake cleaner on new rotors?
@1AAuto5 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Guzman Thanks for watching! Their is a coating on all rotors that help prevent them from rusting while sitting on the shelf. If you do not remove this before installation the new pads will not bed into the rotors properly. This can cause uneven wear and poor braking. 1aauto.com

how come you didnt grease up on the back of the pads, where it touches the caliper?
@1AAuto4 жыл бұрын
+blkofknight If available, it would be good to add a product like no squeal to the back of the brake pads to prevent brake noise, you wouldn't want to add grease. 1aauto.com
