Ended up buying my Pioneer head units and speakers from Crutchfield. They offer excellent warranty and I didn't want to use Pioneer speakers so I upgraded to Infinity Reforence speakers for the doors and dash. Plus for a added amount, they wired the plug from the radio to the adapter for the factory wiring. I'm happy using them, customer service is excellent and no their not paying me for this plug.

Great video ! I have ordered two speakers and plan to follow your directions exactly. One suggestion which you may want to try is I bought a kit of silver solder which is the solder plus a small bottle of liquid flux. Cost less than ten dollars. It holds like it was welded. Thanks for your easy to follow video. t

Great video. Thank you for taking the time to get this video recorded and the t10 and 7mm thing really saved me time! Got 1 of mine done in 40 minutes! Exact same year and model, my wires were a bitch to get off, glad i shouldn't have to for a while now for 1/4 of it haha. Also i didnt watch this before buying my speakers and reading the comments i went for it seeing that other people didnt need a new bracket, i could've used one, but the speaker i got came with special little tiny corners of metal with 2 different sized holes so i could reuse the old screws and somehow actually managed it to just barely fit, and that was a boss 6.5 inch 150-300 watt speaker. The rear i have are a bit bigger they seem actually maybe so they may fit perfect. Theyre pyle 300 watt 6.5 inch. The boss seemed like 6 inch to me where as the pyle is 6.75

Do you need to remove the bracket or did you only do that because you had new ones? Also do new speakers come with a connector do you don't have to solder the wires?
@Bwk912915 ай бұрын
If you remember when you did this, how close was the new speaker to the cover built into the door? I’m doing this same thing but I want to cut the cover out the door and install the ones that come with the speakers? Do you think that would work?

Hey mark great videos.I have a question you maybe able to help me with.But I have a 2001 ls blazer I wanted to change out my front dash 4x6 speakers with the pioneer 3 way speakers.But to my surprise, I don`t have speakers I have tweeters instead.Can I use the same wires that`s connected to the tweeters to hook up the pioneers?Crutchfield said I could, but not really sure on this one.
@barbiesawada2453 жыл бұрын
Should be okay , GM uses special sized connectors, so make sure you get the adapters or know which is positive and negative if you cut the factory leads off...

At first I was like, "quality speaker" you idiot, but then realized that was the speaker you just pulled, lol. Then you twisted the wires and I was like "is this guy really going to do it that way?" but then you pulled out the solder and heatshrinks as well, so I ate my words again. Then disturbed came on and I was like, "alright, you're fucking awesome actually!" Thanks for the vid. Didn't help me because I got the wrong speakers but will definitely follow your video when I return these and get the right ones.

Instead of cutting the factor speaker wiring harness..I just bought the speaker wiring harness kit from cructhfield.com.That way all you have to do is plug in the wiring kit to each factory wiring harness.Then just plug in your speakers.

Looks like I should invest in a soldering iron. I don't own a heat gun either or a hair dryer, if I can't borrow one I may need to grab one of those too. I want to replace the speakers in my 99 corolla. They're fine but music is such a big part of my life and I drive to work 5 days a week, so I figure it'll be worth the small cost and time to do the upgrade. My passenger side rear window is also very lazy about going up after being lowered. I should replace the motor in there soon too. Thanks for the video.

The 6.5 in speakers will fit just fine in the factory bracket without using aftermarket mounts. I have a 2000 blazer they fit perfect in the factory bracket just a little FYI.

Yea i thought i'd give it a shot you can get the plugs to fit the factory plugs on ebay for the front so there is no cutting involved. I think they were around 3.50 for the pair. Mine sounds 100% better now i used to install stereos all the time in all kinds of vehicles.

You don't need to remove the plugs for the windows, locks, mirrors and side mirror selector - there are prongs on each module that are MUCH easier to free up than those darned connectors. GREAT video. I got my speakers in. I replaced them with new factory ones. They were better than the $70.00 kickers at Walmart :)

can someone help me on what speakers are good for these old gm cars i have a 99 tahoe i put in 2 kickers in my rear doors but the tweeters are scratchy what do i do they are hooked up correctly im still using the oem head unit which is working correctly the issue didnt start till i replaced the speakers and the 2 front door speakers work great still no noise just an occasional pop from wearing out the back 2 blew out thus replacing them but i wanted something with added base and sound quality without having to add amps the kickers have a rms of 60 i put 2 4x9 boss speakers in the very back roof that preform perfectly they are rms of 50.

You probably have the Bose system which is actually a very good component setup involving 6 3/4 door subs and 3’ mid/tweeter drivers in the dash. It’s a decent sounding setup. The guy in this video has the crap base setup that was standard.
@freakyflow10 жыл бұрын
A little help with your video : You don't have to undo all the power window clips the whole unit slips out of the hole in the door if you turn it side ways Also on these trucks they have a great spot near the top left for tweeters which you can add on when doing your door speakers Add a Bass blocker on the positive wire and you get only highs adding to a 6.5 that does mid range and bass really makes a difference in clear crisp sound But thanks for the video ..I have to run out and get a T-10 ..only have a T-20 : (
@doomsayer5598 жыл бұрын
Easy upgrade for anyone with a 95+ s series... Alpine components, inline bass blocker included. Fit the woofer and trim the tweeter plates in the dash to hold the larger Alpine tweeters. Hell of a difference. I know, I know the tweets refract off the dash blah blah. But if you're an audiophile I'm sure you can figure out door panel mounting.

Brendan Brown not necessarily. That should only be done in the event that you are changing a larger component such as your head unit (stereo). The speakers don't have power to them unless the radio is on, or if you have an amplifier run to them.

@anthonylogan52576 жыл бұрын
Mark Say you have a radio that has 50w to every channel. (Front left, right, etc.). But you put 20w max speakers on them, you could wear out the speakers prematurely. I have a 54wx4 stereo and I use 350W max door speakers and they work just fine.

Yellow is negative
@vnvfan64135 жыл бұрын
Usually black is negative, especially with older wiring, forget about boats though... Any wire that has a dotted line on it is usually positive. Red is usually positive. If you have something stupid like yellow and brown, brown is usually positive. White is often negative also. If you don't know, just test it before soldering it. This is what I know from being lazy and not looking it up. Haven't had a problem yet.

Unfortunately...I understand where she's coming from. After being told by my father how fat (I wasn't) I was, the first man that told me he loved my size got my virginity. This is a case where I truly get it... I've seen how black men treat darker skinned women. It's like they don't exist when anything a shade lighter is in the area.
