Great video! I changed the control arm bushings on my wife's 2013 Acadia. I did find it easier to take out the old bushing and install the new ones by disconnecting the upper sway bar from the top which allowed the control arm to move up with more clearance. Easy job and no more clunking! Thanks again!

I’m glad it helped! The disconnecting the upper sway bar is a great idea. And thank you very much.....

Well my guess is you don't take 4 hours to change sway bar bushings, LOL! I love cars and plan to restore my 1987 Trans Am when I retire. I've been trying to learn the skills needed before I retire. I'm pretty good mechanically because my Dad had my brothers and me under our 1966 Chrysler 300 with a bent drive shaft all the time. We were changing U joints every weekend it seemed! Plus before he put a 383 in it, we were helping with the bad engine. Anyway, thank you very much....

Thanks for the instruction. Today, I did both (control arm links & sway bar bushings). The sway bar bushing took more time, especially on passenger's side because the exhaustive pipes runs next to it. Overall, not bad process. I thought the bushing is hard to get in both I squeezed from the end of the sway bar and moved to its position. Unfortunately, these did not fix my clunk noises. I still hear the clunk when driving slowly and passing small dents. The noise is gone when driving fast. But, I hear less braking noises and no scary sound when I go over a big bump (my sway bar bushing was really bad before replacing).
@jster19633 жыл бұрын
Awesome! The last thing I know that could be making that noise is the sway bar End Links. I would try replacing those and see what happens. It’s great to have a non clunky car again! And thank you very much……
@TyzFix3 жыл бұрын
@@jster1963 I checked the sway bar link. I don't feel any shaky or any movement while tire is removed. The clunk is very clear when driving slowly and passing a small bump.

@@jster1963 Did you jack up the vehicle using Jack stand, or just work with the tire on? I am afraid the control arm has some force against the link. but looks you took it off so easily.

Little late to the game, but was the clunking before replacing the sway bar bushing happening when turning the wheel side to side as well as hitting little bumps?

Will this help with my 2010 acadia shaking at certain speeds? 🤔
@jster19633 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure. It could be many things that cause shaking. I’m not a mechanic, but my father taught me to start with the cheap stuff first. I would check tire balance first and go from there. Good luck…..

I have a 2011 Acadia Denali has over 200,000 miles on it. But sometimes when I'm driving it down the road I get a vibration from the seems like it's coming from the front right tire I let up off the gas and it stops I accelerate and it goes on like nothing ever happened but the minute I hit a bump I feel that vibration again can someone please let me know what it may be thank you
@jster19633 жыл бұрын
Good question. I’m not a mechanic, but I would look and see if something is loose. I would also check the bearings. And if the tire was changed it may be out of balance. Good luck......
