2014 traverse had a ABS error/traction control error. it was cleared, but now traverse vibrates when quickly stopping at 15 mi per hour. Replaced rotors/pads/tie rod ends/sway bar bushing. would a bad front left lower control arm cause this issue? or possible rack & pinion steering issue?

Chiltons says nothing about disconnecting sway bar mounts. Doing this during a warmer than usual Wisconsin winter but still 15° and fighting the last bolt to come out to put the new arm in. This video was a lifesaver. Thank you.

What the heck is a Lower Control Arm I said to my wife. With your detailed video, I am now a professional at changing our Acadia's front Lower control arm! Well, hardly a pro, but the SUV drives like a dream...(Thanks a million!)

Why would you remove the 24mm off the old control arm if the new one already has one?

Is there any chance you guys can do a video for the sway bar? Mines starting to crack at 98k miles.

Can a crows foot wrench adaptor fit on the ball joint with a torque wrench

Is it necessary to replace the bolts with new ones? My service repair manual states they are one use only. Thanks
@TRQ4 жыл бұрын
+J3rry2377 Thanks for checking us out! They should be replaced but if you are in a bind and do not have them on hand, the old ones can be used in the meantime while you procure new bolts.

6:55 applies the ugga-duggas with the impact then breaks out the torque wrench to, "torque this to 59 ft/lbs". Torque wrench doesn't move the nut at all because it's already well past 59 ft/lbs from the uggas. 😂 Still a great video, super helpful and shows you exactly what's involved with this job but I just found this part pretty funny and had to comment. I also can't say I've ever bothered to use a torque wrench on a swaybar link. How tight? Tight. The German spec of "Guudentight" if you want to be technical.

What do you do when you go to remove the nut on the ball joint and the entire ball joint spins with the nut? Thought this was gonna be a quick and easy replacement 🙄
@myrusEW3 ай бұрын
You don’t have to do any of this. Remove the front 24mm nut off the bushing. Remove the two 18mm bolts of the bracket by using an 18mm wrench to back the nuts on top of them. Pull the bushing out. Replace. Installation is reversal of removal.

Mine doesn’t have the Allen wrench insert on the sway bar link, so vice grip to the back it is!

Technically speaking YES you should. I would say that most people don’t unless their wheel or tires are showing any abnormalities.

what are the signs of a bad control arm?
@TRQ4 жыл бұрын
+jd5179 Thanks for checking us out! Some signs of a faulty control arm would be a clunking noise, possible steering vibration, or the vehicle will pull to one side.
