Thanks for saying the ft lbs of the 2 lower bolts on the strut.. just had to put them bolts in on my gf's 2016 and used your numbers.. took me HOURS then I spotted it in your video!

Quick question because i actually seen it on a video of “what not to when changing struts.” When you have the car off the ground like that and tighten the top nuts on the strut don’t you want to make sure it’s on the ground first then tighten the top?

Me and a couple friends were able to replace the front struts on my 2003 Chevy Impala using this exact same procedure. Wasn't very hard at all.

I see that this video is part of a larger video on also replacing the rotors, calipers, brake pads. The rotor, caliper, and brake pads were brand new when you went to put the new wheel on.

this car could not of had many miles on those struts. what was the symptoms? mine have 180 k on them... not sure if i need new ones or not but IDK what ones to buy. some say the NEW ones are cheap and better off with the old ones..

1A Auto Parts thank you for the reply. I figured out that both sides of the vehicle had to be jacked due to the sway bars putting down force on either side that's not. I would recommend adding that, what I would consider a really important part of the repair in your video. would have saved me a couple of hours just on 1 side. lol

Why would you replace the entire assembly instead of just the shock tube? That makes the parts for all 4 be $266 vs 144. Do you think the springs wear out and need replaced?

+Jason Fisher Depending on the vehicle's condition, the springs might need to be replaced.
