But if you do what are you going to say to the customer but if you leave the nut on no problem also most of the home mechanics will probably hit the thread.

That sucks mate, replacing the diff isn’t too bad in a Hilux, if you can get the whole diff it’s a lot less time consuming then replacing just the center

very useful. I picked up a 2010 a couple of weeks ago, its to replace my gen 2 Pajero 2.8 soon. I ordered the Pedders 50mm heavy duty front and rear suspension.. Here in England so much surface rust etc and nothing as clean as yours down under. Had to angle grinder off the drop links and no way can get in a 6mm Allen key and hold it as pitted and corroded. So just got to order a pair of the drop links also. Here we get the 2.5 engine, or the 3 litre but i went for the 2.5 as we get rear diff locker on those rather than the LSD on the 3.0

very good video, certainly makes life easier if you have the right tools. Just one tip, you can fasten everything, but don't fasten the bottom bolt on the shock until the wheels are back on and the vehicle is standing on its own weight, only then fasten that bolt, that way you not putting torsional forces on that stupid rubber in the bottom of the shock, in theory it should make it last a little longer. Otherwise one of the best simple most mythological approaches I have seen yet, great video and lighting work. Would have liked to see you do the CV as well.
@foordoffroad89152 жыл бұрын

Hey man, great video. Just wondering if the current n80 front struts (2015 - current) will fit on a stock 2010 n70 hilux? I see you briefly mentioned it in your video. Can't really find information anywhere else. Plenty of these are going for sale brand new which have been parted out due to upgrade, is it worth grabbing a set since they are being sold quite cheap or investing in an aftermarket set ?? Cheers

hey mate, is that a genuine strut & shock? I am planning to renew mine in a few months as stock suspension from 2006 is looking very sad. Assuming it's stock shock, do I need to replace anything else? Also, did some CSI style "enhancing" on your video and can see the part number - 48510-0KC40, google shows me that's for 2015 aka n80s. Thanks man , but man if you Mark them first , both sides of each one, then drop the lower control arm outta the way, it is seriously faster. I just put 30mm spacers in mine ( short term) took it for wheel alignment and it was still bang on . 😉

@AlexanderJacobson-v9e Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, just let you know. The way you show how to remove the struts, is extremely time consuming. There is a much easier way to remove and replace. You simply lower the lower control arms after undoing the bottom strut bolt, and swing it clear. Then undo the top strut nuts and out she comes. Have a go you will see for yourself.
@foordoffroad8915 Жыл бұрын
Thanks, but it takes me about 25 minutes to completely do both sides this way on most cars Also as a mechanic of 11 years I have never seen anyone do it the way you describe, yes it would work but just not how we do it
