Pro tips: tape window up. Loosen the clamps slightly before trying to attach to window. Bolt the rails in tight because that should align the clamps to the window. Attach the door panel temporarily to turn regulator on to get clamps up to the window and then tighten those. You dont want the regulator to have clamps all the way up when u install them. Make sure they are like 3/4 the way up and then turn car keys on, put window control up to mate clamps to window and then tighten. My window was stuck all the way down so i removed all the rail hardware and pulled the window up by hand.then I started from there

Great video, very helpful. My problem is that I need to know how to replace the regulator with the window stuck all the way down. I can’t get it to budge so as to lift it all the way up and out of the way of replacement. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The window won't move at ALL with the clamps still holding it. If you are going to replace the regulator assembly (and already have a new one standing by), I'd be very tempted to cut the cables that go from supports to motor/gearbox assy. That ought to free it up.

or you could figure out a way to loosen the clamp nuts....your choice

If you remove all the bolts from the arms, the clamps on the window wont be attached to anything and u can pull it all the way up by hand. I removed my stuck clamp once i got window taped

Very helpful video, I got everything back together, but I can’t get the pins to reclip. Tried my hand like you did and also tried a rubber mallet with no luck. Also tried closing the door pretty hard in hopes that that might work, but the bottom is still loose. Any advice?

I took apart the panel on my video today, I just posted, I think it's best to ensure the clips are directly mounted on the inner side of the panel as opposed to the actual door it self I had this problem too, but realized the gray clips need to be mounted on the panel first then re-assembling everything together.

Nice video enjoy good instructions I just hate this type of system....wish Chevy would have took notes from mopar where all you need to replace is the motor not motor and regulator. Just asking for more trouble and money the way I see it. BTW mine is a '11 LTZ What is the auto lock my Lock for the doors are on the dash!

Excellent video. Just what I needed to complete this repair on my vehicle. Is there any way you could do an instructional video on how to replace the interior door handle on this vehicle as well? It is the exact same door style/panel as the one in this video. The handle is held in place by plastic, melted rivets/fasteners and I could use some guidance on how to get it replaced the right way. Thanks for the great videos.

Great video. You guys are forgetting two things which made this change alot harder than the video. 1. The window has to be all the way up, otherwise you will not be able to have acess to the the two bolts which loosen and tighten the two clamps to the window. My Equinox the window would come up about two inches short to the top which made acsess to the two bolts a pain. Thank god I had tools that could reach down and loosen these two bolts 2. the replacement part has to have the two guides for the window near the top. It has to be in a specific spot to get things to line up. My didnt. So you have to take the whole thing back out and connect it to the electrical connection and run the regulator and get them in their right position other wise the screw holes will not line up. 😀

I have a 2013 Terrain and am needing to replace the window of the front passenger door. ~3:15, when you tape up the window, would I be able to slide it down then pull up to remove the broken window and do the opposite to install the replacement? Then continue at the point where you reattach the window to the track?

When i purchased new regulator to replace I noticed new regulator had window clamps positioned midway on tracks. How do i move them up to line up to bottom of window since window is now taped?

What do I do if I just need to pop my window back into place? It got stuck the other day, and wouldn’t go back up. My brother pushed it up, and I think he pulled it up to far, and now it’s just loose

Can the motor be replaced without taking out the regulator?
