How to replace fuel pump 2020 Polaris sportsman 850

Here I’ll show how to replace a fuel pump module on the a 2020 850 xp quad atv using the all ball pump.

Thanks , very helpful . Took me 2-3 hrs . My bike had a cracked fuel pump from factory . Polaris still hasn't the 23-24 sportsmans. 6 months later .

All Balls - you'll be back replacing that thing shortly. OEM or Quantum pumps only.

Fuel pump factory is the best I’ve found .i replaced with oem it didn’t last a year then I used a quantum I didn’t last no time finally went to fuel pump factory and I’ve been very impressed so far the longest lasting one

@@newpylong that’s what I thought but it’s all my Polaris’s 2019 rzr 1000 ,2011 rzr 900 ,2015 sportsman 570 .and now my sons 2020 Polaris sportsman 850 is down ,now we are ordering a fuel pump for it today

can you tell why you changed the pump ? xp 1000 touring ...when is hot...is not running smooth on idle and seems too loose power if i drive slow..

What is that tool called that? You remove the cap only fuel cell looks like a big pair of channel locks.

Oil filter pliers. Harbor Freight has them cheap

There’s no need for a shut off valve on fuel injection

It's EFI, no need.

My 19 sportsman 850 is like starving of fuel cause it won't die if give it throttle unless I just go heavy on thottle

You should have test ran it before you put it all back together

Will a bad fuel pump cause it to only run on one cylinder? I’m only getting around 35psi on my fuel rail and 40 psi while idling

Nope they’d be a different issue. Start looking at what effects only that cylinder

@@Dutters.dirtbikes I swapped in new spark plugs, seemed to fix it momentarily but then went back to only running on the rear cylinder. Can you point me in the right direction on checking it, new to this one. Would timing have something to do with it?
