This video shows you how to install a new TRQ fuel pump with integrated sending unit in your 2000-2005 Buick LeSabre. Combustion engines need three things to operate: fuel, air, and spark. If your fuel pump isn’t delivering the fuel your engine needs, it will run poorly, or not at all. Or, the pump is fine, but your fuel gauge isn’t working. Many modern pumps include an integrated sending unit. Either way, a new engineered to fit fuel pump for TRQ is just what you need.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:

Thanks a million, I just replaced a lady friend of ours, I'm not a professional so it took me about 5 hours to slowly and safely complete the install. The video really didn't show the full extraction of the pump and what I found out it is really really tight fit, so much I thought it would not come out at all. Finally keeping it straight up and down and pulling up on it hard it came out. Another thing to realize is once you get the new one in it bottoms out at the bottom of the tank but stick out above the hole about 3". The first thing you think is they sent you too long of a fuel pump. But what's happening is those 4 poles on the pump with springs on each one are so you can press down on the top of the pump and then it will collapse down in the tank, then you hold it down and start the steal seal ring into the ears and start your pound it closed. A thing that needs to be mention is this is obviously a potentially dangerous job. After you take out the old fuel pump you are staring at a 5 " open hole of a tank of gas lying on your side in the back of the trunk. When this gentleman says to use a brass bar and take every precaution not to solder wires together that's an understatement to me. I couldn't wait to get the old pump out and the new one in to cover the open hole of a half a tank of gas exposed to the environment. It takes alot of pounding to get that steal seal ring off and back on. Another thing was if the weather was good I would have done it outside not in my garage and have a plan if it does catch on fire. Fire Extinguisher, wet blanket, etc. Of course probably best would be to drain the tank. Anyway thanks for the Video! It was very very well done!!

With respect to the guy in the video...I replaced the fuel pump on my 1999 park Ave and I soldered the wires as non-shrink crimp connections will corrode over time. Always wondered why they felt the need to change the harness style on the replacement pump...the original lasted perfectly well. Oh well...the fact that the General put the port in the trunk to access the pump earns them a by in my opinion. Way easier than dropping the tank...

That lock ring can be a real pain getting off. Had to get a special tool from amazon after hammering away at it with a brass punch while I’m curled up in the back of the trunk

I would start and run it with the cover off to check for leaks before the final cover but great job

It’s the lock ring and wire splicing that’s a pain! My 2004 Buick LeSabre is at 193,000 would it be a good time to clean or replace the ignition module?

If that ring is not put on completely and vapors are getting into the cab will the check engine light come on? I think that my mechanic didn't get that ring gasket thing put back all the way but he insists that if it is not tight enough and the vapors are escaping then the check engine light will come on. He thinks either some fuel got into the cab or vapors from the tank being open saturated the backseat and are releasing when the windows are up. I can air it out and the smell goes away but then when I drive my car and leave the windows up and comes back. I can smell fuel very strongly. If I drive it for more than 20 minutes I get dizzy. After seeing your video i think something with the rubber or metal gasket is messed up

No need to mess with relieving the pressure under the hood. Start the car and pull the fuse for the fuel pump. Car will die when it runs out of gas, no more pressure.

Well, I'm annoyed that one still has to splice the four wires. Why? Why? Why? It's 2023 !!! Really? I soldered and shrink-tubed the four wires when I did this job on a 2000 park avenue. It was outdoors and well ventilated. I'm not a fan of those crimp connectors. I was hoping when I did the same job on my '02 Lesabre they'd have the right connectors !!! I suppose not. Also, when u pressed the float arm into the black plastic piece that has the two wipers on it, please next time support the back of the black piece. Why? It's a pivot. If that piece gives a little, you'll pull the wipers away from the resistors they need to rub against for the fuel gauge to function properly, which is probably why you're changing this part in the first place - fuel gauge wacky !! Good point about sparks. Does brass and steel not spark? Is it safer to have an almost empty tank, or a full tank? I know an empty tank is less messy but can't u have more dangerous vapors? Maybe use a new locking ring next time. That one was rusty. It should come bundled with the fuel pump. Great, instructional video. Easy to follow for someone who hasn't done such a job yet.

Notice the "editing" when re-installing that crappy rusty retaining nut. Worst part of the whole job. And why doesn't anyone mention the special universal tools available to turn those nuts? Might be worth the rental fee.
