Not going to do the wiggle joke...but you need to wiggle it a bit...if you happen to have WD40 around..that would help a lot to release it while wiggling

I just got a gaming chair and I accidentally inserted the piston incorrectly and now I’m trying all of my might to remove it and insert it correctly

If you have some WD40 would help to release it while removing it on a twist motion...dont even try just pulling...you have to pull while twisting as much as you can...if you have some vice grips to help twist would make it easier.....plus try tapping it on sides softly to see if it gives way...just dont dent it or bend it

My gaming chair is leaking some kind of oil, what happens if it doesn't get replaced? ( The piston )

That should be the o-ring that is gone and leaks grease /oil at that point it needs replacement...otherwise it just becomes like a simple pipe instead of a piston...will not go up or down...they're not worth repairing

I've never been able to get these things off. Not even the WD40 helped.

might be rusty or some kind of oxidation, if you have a rubber mallet try to tap it from the sides equally...3 taps one side and 3 the other continue so until you notice it tilting one side...im saying this so you don't damage the base itself .
