Great video I was able to follow np. In the future I’d say get a tripod or stand for your camera so you can show you doing it, but honestly your instructions were clear and you showed what need to be shown

The color code on the spring ends are pretty much standard. Unless you door is over 300 LB., you can use a home scale to measure the weight of the door and then pick the proper weight limit of the spring kit.

Son is a LEO. He had a call this last week where a torsion spring broke both arms of the drywall worker and severely lacerated one of his arms. Significant blood loss. Tourniquet applied. Transported to a Trauma Center Hospital. It was on his list of bad calls.

@@RLTtizME I never worked on one before I forgot to put the bars in and loosened the nut on the spring and it looked like a murder scene I had to lift door up take off vice grips all while pouring blood lucky I had a glove or would have been terrible but 7 stitches later everything good I feel very lucky wasn’t worse

Hello Sir, are you getting less than 67” when the spring is stretched? I just installed mine and my spring is 69” when stretched and door are balanced. I’m not sure what to do to adjust it to 67”. Any ideas?

My garage door is 8’x7’ and I used the Clopay 7’ extension spring conversion kit.

Door weighs 130 lbs and used the yellow color spring rated for 130 lbs

I figured out the issue. My initial weight of 130 lbs was wrong. I weighed the door again and this time I removed the tension completely. Correct weight is 140 lbs. Replaced the spring with 140 lbs (blue color) and the length is now 64” when stretched.

Never put grease in your tracks. Only oil the wheel bearings.

I would have replaced the rollers while I was at it with newer plastic rollers with sealed bearings.
