Very good video, I wish there was an install video, for me taking apart is the easiest part. Putting back together is usually the part with the most issues, especially with the springs.

Thanks for this upload, I really appreciate it. I got the parking brake exposed, but then decided to tackle this once the warmer weather comes.

Thanks for your video. I’ve seen these shoes in place in two different directions. In some pictures it’s the strange gmt edge on top where the adjuster sits and in others it’s the one with steps sitting the adjuster while other end holding the cable. What is the right orientation/placement of the shoes?

Where is the REST of the video? I clicked in order to find out how to REPLACE them, not how to remove only.

What do you mean to release the handbreak? Just put it all the way down or release it somehow the other way? I can't take off my rear disc on E91. :-) My handbreak is down and everything should be good to go but I can't take it off. Also I tried to hit it a little bit with a hammer because of the rust.

Back off the toothed adjuster through a hole in the hub, bash the drum with a hide or other soft hammer, have fun!

My sensor has been triggered, can I change the brake pads without needing to change the sensor?
@hpresqer3 жыл бұрын
no the sensor have to be changed, its just a wire that gets partially destroyed when the brake pads wear down, so when the wires no longer transmit power it triggers the light in the dash (at least on the older models not sure about newer models)

You never replaced the brake. You only took it off.

removing it was quite laborious I took off the bmw x1 myself and took off the upper spring and then I could take off both shoes at the same time
