I was wondering why grille screws kept "spinning". Thought they were rusted, until you showed they are "xmas tree retainers". I didn't need to remove the grille for this task, as many commented, but the intel gained for this and the headlight removal is valuable. Thanks for this vid. !!!

definitely another connection on the side wall of the light holding it in, no way it just slides out after those 2 top bolts are removed

@@Elanic_ ended up replacing both headlights entirely but it was simply such a hot mess and so much absolutely ridiculous manufactured misery courtesy of Ford motor company and all others just to sell something for transportation exploitation good luck now they want you to buy these batteries for stupid shit call him an electric EV's ...I had to remove wheel covers,front bumper, grill... almost everything but the drive shaft to be honest with you lol

My focus has 3 bolts to attach the headlight in place two on top and one on the side but it seems impossible to remove unless I take off the bumper,I was wondering if there was an easier way,thanks

@@2carpros In the other videos there is a 3rd bolt behind fender. I will double check the years...tho it appears in one video the "bolt" can stay there and the headlight slides away from it, ie, the bolt hole is open on one side

My 2005 ford focus has a hidden bolt on the passenger side. I did not have to remove the hidden bolt, just the two on top. After taken the grill off, the headlight assembly can slide to the right to clear the hidden side bolt.

@@2carpros you don't have to remove the bumper? I saw on A1 auto that they said to remove the headlight you have to remove the whole bumper to get to the bolt on the side behind the bumper.

Mine was just a clip on the sides that you just have to pull the lights out at a certain angle and they come out takes a minute or two to finesse👍🏻

I miss the days when they had glass headlights that you could easily replace by just taking out two screws on a metal frame that held them in

His was not attached. I suspect the headlights or maybe the bumper shroud has been replaced before. Also most shops will tell you that you have to remove the entire bumper shroud first to gain access to that slide bolt. I broke the old headlight trying to remove it. I only realized the slide bolt and broken off piece of the headlight were there when the new one would not fit.

I have noticed that every focus is different assembled parts . In mine I only take off the screws and remove the headlight assembly without messing with anything else

The side screws are just held on with a clip. I forced it off and them left it when I installed the new ones.

I have a problem with my lowbeams not turning on but the highs do on a 2002 focus I checked and changed fuses switched the relays around the headlight switch turns on the dash lights on low and clicks fine when turned ive been told it may be the switch any thoughts ?

I love your videos and it has made some stuff super easy, but as others have said there is a 3rd bolt. I am guessing that your car's headlights have either been disassembled or changed before, and the installer did not install the 3rd bolt. If you watch other videos you will see that almost everyone has to remove the entire bumper, grille and even the air filter housing. Not sure why Ford did this, as this was a poor design from Ford. From a personal point of view, I did axle swaps, rebuilt the full suspension but going through all of that to get to a bulb/housing seems like a lot of work for something that should be really simple. At least for this task, I may try to get a shop to do it for me.

You definitely skipped a step, the side bolt is much more difficult and time-consuming to remove. I didn't reinstall it in order to make it a 5min job next time.

There's also a screw on the bottom of the 2004 headlight assembly. Not as easy as he makes it look.

There's a bolt on both sides behind the bumper near your side marker that needs to be removed. You have to be under the car. May need to remove the bumper if your hands aren't small enough to access the 2 bolts.

Why not just polish them up whith wet and dry and rubbing compound a Dan sight cheaper than replacing the headlights
