Thanks for showing how to do it. What I saw when removing the bumper is to not pull the bumper straight out, you will break the bumper clips. Instead grab a flat srew driver, look closely and Push Down on each black plastics that is holding the bumper clips. And carefully while pushing down the black plastics, remove the bumper as you go.

This is an excellent vid but not to be confused with headlights that simply burn out. I was a little concerned at first cuz my left light went out and im new to the car game. You can replace the bulbs themselves much easier thankfully

One of the things I miss about my 02 Malibu was the ease of changing out the headlights 😭 it would stay in place with some clips that you’d pull up and it would take less than 5 minutes to change both of them

For people who bought the wrong headlight assemblies where the DRL is a 3 pin vs 2 pin. You can either cut the wires on the harness and the assembly and connect direct or de-pin the connector and find the correct connector which is what Im going to do. You can leave it unplugged for the meantime. Job isn’t that hard. I just let my bumper hang down below.

Thanks for the info. Not difficult if you have the tools for the job. Make sure you take out the correct plastic pins underneath so you don’t struggle taking off the bumper. I’m a Weekend warrior with harbor fright tools lol. About 2 hours to do by myself

For those in the comments, this is to replace the entire headlight housing, not a bulb, you can do that without taking off the bumper haha

I’m almost finished but I can’t get the driver side headlight out. It’s stuck up in there. I don’t know what to do. :( there’s nothing keeping it in there it just looks like the bracket is wedged in there.

I was going to remove the assembly in order to use a restoration kit to get rid of oxidation. I’ll just do it on the car so I don’t have to take a Honda bodywork class at community college.😅

Yeaaa expected this to be a quick 20 minute fix but ended up breaking 6 clips and a quick trip to the pick nd pull and a couple of headaches

Wow I just did it and thought "there must be an easier way" nope my way was much easier, the hardest part was taking the battery out on the drivers side other than that just reach under the brace and turn. You'll need a small flathead screwdriver or a pocket knife to pop the clip holding it in and done
