Would you happen to know how to correctly put a wiper transmission on with the linkage because I'm trying to find one for my town car I just bought a blower fan for mine and I judt need the wipers fixed so I can get it insured

Thank you for posting this video. My husband is currently working out of town and I’ve been putting my car blower motor off. Now that the warmer weather is here, I had to step up to the plate. With your video and one hour, I had the old fan out and the new one in. One issue I came across was the fan was blowing, but no air flow. I found a nugget of information online, that indicated that the fans (either ford or aftermarket, I’m not sure which) are re else wired. I turned the wiring to the opposite, and now I have my airflow back with. Ice cool air. Thank you

If you have lost some of the speed setting on your heat, it could be the blower motor resistor that is causing this. Hope this helps you out.

Normally to reach that spot you would have to remove a large portion or the HVAC system in the car which might require you to remove the dash to retrieve it.

If there's any type of fuse panel in the engine compartment you may want to check there too, for any kind of a blown fuse or relay.

If there's smoke coming out of the vents and it has a syrup kind of smell, it may be the heater core that needs to be replaced.

It may solve the issue. It's hard to be certain though if that's exactly what's causing the issue.

Does anything at all blow out of the vents ? Or does air blow out, it just isn't hot?

You may want to check the fuel pressue to see if the motor is getting enough fuel to it.

If you are not getting any air then it could be the vent doors not operating correctly inside the HVAC system

It may be on it's way out. If you can also smell like a maple syrup type oder, that's usually the sign of a bad heater core.

I have quick question. I dropped a something down the defrost vent of a 1997 Lincoln town car. It seems to have slide all the way down to where a vent fan is right behind the glove box. Is a there any way to get in to this area? Do you have to remove the dash to do so or can you go in from where the blower motor is? Any help would be much appreciated especially since it is my coworkers car. Thanks

I own a 2002 Cartier as well... my heat/heated seats all stopped working last week and we have replaced the fuses/relays and had the blower checked but the problem still persists... any idea as to what the problem may be?

So is there a video showing how to take off the fan cage? I bought a part online and the fan cage is too big so I'd like to replace it with one I know would fit

It may be in one of two locations check the passenger side firewall (in the engine compartment), and look between the heater hoses. It may be there or under the dash inside of the car on the passengerside footwell. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

I have a 2002 Cartier. Where can I find where the blower motor resistor located? The fan comes on when I call for Hi speed. It doesn't work on lo speed at all.

It could be the fan, or the blower motor resistor. You may want to see if the blower motor has a loose connection going to it, and that there's also power to the plug(s) on the blower motor and also the resistor. We carry new ones on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Hey Mike. I have a 1999 town car, and I keep having smoke or steam coming from inside the vents in my car, and the inside of the windshield has like some type of soot or film that builds up after every other use and it's hard to wipe off. Any suggestions?
