How to replace humidity sensor on GE Dehumidifier

In this video we will demonstrate how to change the humidity sensor on GE Dehumidifier.
Common indication of faulty humidity sensor on GE Dehumidifiers that reading get stuck, often at 30% and won’t change. In some cases, unit won't turn on at all.
Keep in mind, mentioned indications may not necessary mean that your dehumidifier have faulty humidity sensor. And the issue could be anything else, such as defective control board or leaked out refrigerant.

Ours seems to work properly in every way, except it will not automatically turn on. If I shut off the power, wait a few seconds and turn it back on, it will run for a while. On continuous, it will also shut itself off after a while. Does that sound like the sensor, or something else?

Most dehumidifiers have minimum set of 30-35% to operate. And depends of what your location is, it is common for the humidity level to go below this point at this time of the year therefore dehumidifier will not work. If this is a case, nothing wrong with your dehumidifier.

does this work for ge Dehumidifier ADHL35LA? It looks similar but not quite the same when i pop'ed mine open.

Did you get it to work? I'm having the same issue. If the sensor is the same, I think it should be replaceable, but not seeing any sensors available to purchase for the ADHL

This specific sensor will not fit into ADHL product line, however we do have another sensor for ADHL models. Please keep in mind, ADHL models have few different types of sensors, so make sure you get correct one. I have a Frigidaire unit, it runs for about 3 mins then shuts off. The display also reads 30. Humidity sensor is my best guess, do you agree? Do you carry one for Frigidaire?

Hi, my GE humidifier had the similar symptoms, I changed the sensor. It runs for an hour then stops and never reaches to my setting. Compressor does kick on. Are there other sensor beside this and temperature sensor?

I'm afraid the refrigerant leaked out from the system and you may need to buy brand new dehumidifier.

@@kazemashrafioun2492 You can’t tell how severe the leak problem is with human eyes. To detect the leak, you have to recover the refrigerant and charge the system with nitrogen gas to detect the spot of leaking. Then weld the spot and charge it with refrigerant. The cost of buying the refrigerant is more than the cost of the dehumidifier. That is why he recommends to buy new dehumidifier.
