You may want to check the belt tensioner to see if it needs to be replaced. After a while they tend to loose their tension, causing the belt to squeal.

My new 2001 mustang seemed to have an issue with the tensioner pulley jumping back and fourth. I believe this caused an idle issue dropping and accelerating. I replaced the tensioner pulley the two idler pulllies and the belt. The belt now squeeks. what do you recommend?
@1AAuto13 жыл бұрын
@279spirit We offer a choice between AC Delco belts and an aftermarket brown box. More often though on the Chevy and GMC trucks, it is one of the tensioner pulleys making the noise. They are known to start going around 50K miles.

Thank you. Ordered a couple parts from you guys and was satisfied with shipping. I intend to order more parts and recommend you guys to my buddies as well. Please do some more Mustang (V8) videos. Also keep up the good work 1aauto.

Awesome video very informative but what about buying that same 15mm bolt does 1A carry them

If it's a squeeling noise you may want to check the belt or the tensioner.

Its definitely a small exhaust leak somewhere. I currently have the same noise and have taken mine to a shop and had it confirmed that it is indeed a leak. I just haven't had the money to have it fixed yet. My leak is somewhere around the manifolds.

@infringinator The GM Trucks are known for their serpentine tensioner pulleys going bad. On many applications There are 2 tensioners, one for the major belt and one down low for the AC belt. We sell both on our website.

Ty. My new belt keeps slippin off the pulley and alternator ruined 2 belts already! Though it could be this or my ac bypass pulley. We will know today

Thank you for the video. My bolt is pretty rusted and not willing to budge with some traditional elbow grease, is there any tips you have for loosening the bolt?
@1AAuto7 жыл бұрын
+UTWY You could try spraying a little penetrating oil on it such as PB Blaster. You can find it at your local auto parts store. Hope this helps you out 1aauto.com

I have a 2003 Ford Mustang, the A/C compressor locked up when I pulled up at work and it started to burn the belt. Is there any way I can buy a smaller belt and bypass the compressor until I get it home?
@1AAuto12 жыл бұрын
The new pulley came with a spacer.

my 2006 silverado squeaks a little should I try this? Or just change the belt?

@countryboyG This isn't something that I've noticed or tried out. If all three of them do the same thing, it could be the way that they are designed.

What is the tread size on the first idler pulley bolt? Last guy stripped the bolt hole and placed JB Weld or something. I want to helix coil it.

+rgibnz320 Thanks for watching! We do not have that information on hand, but perhaps that is something you could figure out by contacting your local dealership.

+Eric Juarez We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
