This video shows you how to replace the inner tie rods on your 2002-2008 Dodge Ram 1500. The inner tie rod has a ball joint that can wear over time, causing a clunking noise, loose steering, and eventually, other problems with the wheel and suspension components. It’s a good idea to replace your inner tie rods as soon as you notice any of these symptoms.
This repair was done on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7L Crew Cab Pickup 4-Door 4WD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 is the inner tie rod suppose to rotating after u loosen the jam nut or not rotate while Jam nut is tight?

You also could have measured the distance from the nut or marked it and lined up the new tie rod and marked the same spot

BTW you could have used the cutter to remove the other band

What about if the reason I’m replacing it is it became unthreaded.

I was able to reuse the band on mine if you dont Destroy it you cant re use it and your a pro
