I cut some corners as well. Didn't pull the console out or take the side panels off. Took the screws out of the side panels and took the screws out of the part of the console that was screwed to the metal bracket above the amp. That lets the console move up/down a couple of inches. Unscrewed the metal cover over the amp which lets it move enough front to back to get to the two front screws holding the amp in. Remove screws, slide amp out....easy.

You're wrong when you said that you won't be able to use the factory Bose amp with a aftermarket radio. I just got a Kenwood DPX double din radio installed in my 2004 Yukon after my factory 6 disc radio quit working. The installer asked me if I wanted to use the built-in amp that came with Kenwood or continue to use the factory Bose amp. I chose to keep my Bose amp running exactly the same and it works perfectly. Even my Onstar, Sirius satellite, and steering wheel controls still work.
@TheRykerDane9 жыл бұрын
Rodney Holt well thats cool. I didn't know there was a work a round to keep using your same bose amp. You might need a special adapter harness that they might make now. And there might be some computer resetting or something to do to. But for the average person who doesn't know any of that they might need a professional to help with that. good info, thanks

@TheRykerDane9 жыл бұрын
Jordan Roark If you bought a new aftermarket radio, then you won't be able to use the stock bose amp thats in it. You will have to use a new amp. The factory radio and factory amp in the yukon only work together. So I would just buy a new amp and install. Make sure the connections to the speakers are hooked up correctly, you may have to manually wire them into your radio since the factory harness won't work anymore.

Hey so I swapped out the amp cause I had the same battery killing problem in my 06 Denali and now I only have sound coming out of the front right speakers. Have you heard of that problem?
@TheRykerDane10 жыл бұрын
The only thing I can think of is your rear speakers are disconnected, blown, or that you have to do a system reset with the new amp in there. Sometimes when putting a amp in the vehicle from a different vehicle, the system will not recognize it and you have to have a computer scanner hooked up to reset it. All I can say it check your connections and make sure the same numbers (serial) (model) are the same on the new one as your old on. good luck!

I have an 02 Escalade and I replaced the radio with a Crutchfield kit and PAC interface modules and harnesses. The front speakers work great but not the rear. I had no idea there was another hidden amplifier until I watched your video!! Is it possible that the amp has fuses in it that could have caused the rear only to not work??
@TheRykerDane9 жыл бұрын
Ted A. Miller I am not sure because you would have to take out the 6-8 allen head bolts in the amp to see if there are fuses inside, but I doubt there are. Do the rear speakers work at all? Hi, I replaced the factory 6CD changer on my Sierra SLT with Bose system with a single dim Kenwood car CD player. I used PAC OS-2BOSE interface for GM to make the Kenwood working but in two days, my brand new battery died and I didn`t know why, so I put an amp meter between the negative pole on the battery and the negative cable (removed the negative cable off the battery) and monitored the amp. I saw the amp meter was drawing 650mA constantly from the battery, I then put the factory 6CD changer back on the car and checked the amp meter again, this time it was drawing only 15mA. I took it to the radio installer and he said my interface is defected! The question I have is that can it be because of bad amplifier? I thought then if the amplifire was bad, the amp shouldn`t have changed after I put the factory 6CD changer back on the car! I should add, the kenwood was working pretty good, the only problem was the excessive amp drawing from battery. Any thoughts? Thanks, Sean
@TheRykerDane10 жыл бұрын
Caspian Sea So when you had it installed, was the music playing fine, (no crackling speakers or power drops) If so then yes I was say the interface is not working properly. Usually if you replace the factory radio, and put in an aftermarket, the system does not work well. As far as resetting the computer: if the cd player worked when you installed then no you don't have to. If after you installed it everything was silent and no sound, then the computer would need to be reset to acknowledge the new device. See if you can replace the interface and try again.
