Excellent DIY video, no extraneous music and direct to the point. I need to do on my 2010 Wrangler JK

Great video, my Jeep did the same thing, but it never threw a code. Pulled the transmission to replace clutch and rebuild trans and found both upstream cars clogged with crystals from coolent…. Also was easy to see from back of motor an external oil/coolent leak as well as a slow leak from the front. I bought the same intake gasket and I’ll be doing that here soon before I get the trans back in hah

Thank you! Just got an 07 and found out it didn't have coolant.... stupid stupid me. So it's either this or the head. Hope it's this. I filled the coolant and will drive through the weekend to see what happens. Hot air was working so that's a pluss.

Great video. You made it look easy. I’m gonna have to pay $250 to get this done. Paying my buddy but still, not an expense I wanted to get after. Doing fuel injectors at the same time.

Would the bad gasket produce a burning smell? It always smells like somethings burning when the engine gets up to operating temp

Did you replace yours? Did the smell go away?

Got a bad oil leak on rear of engine high either head or upper manifold ? no codes, a bit of loss of power, sounds like a bit of an muffled deep bass sound maybe exhaust manifold also ? Any clues ? Could this upper be the problem

My 07 jeep has a rough idle and started to shut off. I was told this was the issue and dude is trying to charge me 1200. Could this oil cause a rough idle from My oil leaking as well?

How long did the job take over all? As far as actually pulling it apart and buttoning it back up?

would a failing intake gasket cause coolant to leak out the back of the motor and drip down onto transmission and what not?
@Smokeytheghoul22 күн бұрын
Was that the case for you? Because Mike’s doing that right noe

I had to replace a fuel injector years ago so ive done half of this job. How long did it take you?

Donnie, got same issue on Cyl 6 code and with my bore scope and a q-tip I can prove coolant in the cylinder. Based on your experience with the head gasket, would you have still taken the same troubleshooting route of dealing with the intake gasket first? We haven’t done a pressure test yet on the coolant system and I can think of no way to Differentiate if the issue is the intake or the head, can you?
@Donnythelatemodeltech5 ай бұрын
I would do the intake gasket first again. It’s cheap, and not that difficult to replace. It if works - Awesome . If not just get ready to do the head gasket.

How did you clean the manifold without getting any debris in the engine
@timothyyomama97692 ай бұрын
Only thing I can thing of is sticking rags or paper towels in the holes, then using an air blower

Cool video but why pressured to 13 psi when the radiator cap for that wrangler is 18 psi?
@SooSmokie3 ай бұрын
Because you only need 13 psi to find a leak. 18 is too much, hence why the cap blows open at 18psi
