Hey Sebas, great content - funny enough, I just ended up doing something similar for my 03 GT (poor idle, misfire #4, random CEL for lean bank 2)..was pretty much spot on this same issue. Sure enough, cylinder 4 injector was COVERED in oil/grit/gas (same puddle), and coil #4 was a generic JEC (Not a Denso). I got lucky and found a relatively low mileage donor car here in IL; grabbed all 4 coils and injectors. I ended up doing a (Denso) refresh kit for every coil, a valve cover gasket, new NGK's, and cleaned/swapped a junkyard injector and matched seals. I also took the time to clean up the other 3 injectors, seals, and the area where they seat. No more Misfires, idle issues, and CEL's. I might go back and use the Toyota (new) parts you supplied and replace with NEW o-rings. 03 1ZZFE Celica GT with 210K. Thanks man, your knowledge and expertise has been a lifesaver with these engines!

@@g.bergervoet4505 I think my replies kept getting removed by YT for linking - Coils have 3 serviceable parts (Boot, Spring, Top Seal). DENSO Refresh kit has 4 bags (each coil) containing those 3 parts. Hardest part was figuring out how to get out/get in the new spring - took some tinkering, but best way I found was needle-nose pliers to twist out the old spring, same pliers to twist in the new spring. The spring should freely rotate twisting out and twisting in - the opposite way "locks" the spring to the coil and wont move. I found my kit on Rock Auto > 03 Celica GT > Ignition > Spark Plug / Coil-On-Plug Boot > Set > DENSO part 6714319 (at the bottom). Make sure you get the right kit for your car, mine is a GT, there is a different part for the GTS.

Came to watch this video as I was just quoted $2450.50 for replacement of all 4 fuel injectors (a single one was found to be faulty and causing rough idle and fuel economy loss). Seeing how easy to access it all is, I'm quite confident in changing the injectors myself and saving myself quite a bit of money lol.
@2zzlow2 жыл бұрын
Very easy stuff, one thing I probably should of mentioned was Lubricate the o rings so they don’t rip putting them in the fuel rail. Maybe with some thin coat of oil

2450 for fuel injector replacement...what in the hell .....man thats crazy
@eamonnparsons31558 ай бұрын
@@Commando484z Worst part. It wasn't even the fuel injector, the rough-idle continued after I replaced the injectors. I wasn't sure what to do, found a recommended mechanic and took it to him to diagnose. Found a faulty ignition coil in about 2 minutes, fixed and replaced for $150 within 15 minutes. Some mechanics are so dodgey and charge for the most random, unnecessary work.

So My Corolla has a rough time starting and dies immediately after idling, changed mass airflow sensor, throttle body, fuel pump and battery and the same thing happens. Started to smell gas and checked the fuel injectors and rail. Unplugged the electrical and when I plug them back down the injector leaked out the side of the insulator donut. Could this be why my 08 Corolla is stalling after turning it on ? Turns on good after 2-3 tries and runs great tcc is going bad I have a code but no stalling when coming to a stop and drives well . Only problem is starting and dying immediately

Hey thanks for the video. I’m looking to do this on my 2ZZ. I see 2ZZ has different lower insulators (23291-0V020). Are the top o-rings the same between 1ZZ and 2ZZ?

I’d appreciate more content on how you did it for instance how it went taking off your fuel rail and talking about releasing the fuel pressure. Also trying to do this on my own if I just watched I feel Like I could be more comfortable with mine.
@2zzlow2 жыл бұрын
I didn’t really release the fuel pressure since it was low to begin with but what you would want to do is remove the fuel pump fuse and run the vehicle until it dies
@gorehammer1 Жыл бұрын
It’s stupid easy, don’t worry about depressurization. Just pop that shit off and flip the fuel rail out of the way. You will only get a few drips. Only thing to watch out for is o rings rolling and pinching when you reinstall the rail. I like to lightly oil the rings and seat the injectors in the fuel rail first to make sure they seat properly and then put the rail with the injectors into place. Don’t over torque the bolts for the fuel rail, it doesn’t need to be that tight.

i watched this because i cant get my injectors to stop leaking .but the idile prob many talk about might be the intake manifold gasket ..its a prob on these engines and that fixed my stalling and idle prob but right now I need a video that show the right way to install injectors because I'm about to lose my mind trying to get theses new injectors to stop leaking.

Im in the same boat dude. I changed the seals as well. Same problem, gas pooling.
@CallieCEntertainment4 сағат бұрын
Go slowly, you can spray brake or carb cleaner (or dip then in a little gas) on the seals to lubricate them and then you hand seat the rail. You do not use the bolts on the rail to seat them because it will pinch the o-rings.

The 1zz is super reliable and strong, but have noticed that at 300k, i started getting issues every month lol. 1st the valve cover gasket got a nasty leak, then the egr, then got a misfire in piston 3 with a "lean code" and replace the intake manifold gasket and ran better, then the coil went bad in cylinder 3, replaced and got better, now got a misfire again and got a feeling it might be this injector problem, hopefully lol.
@MikeHart724 ай бұрын
Switch injector 3 with injector 1. If the misfire follows the injector that’s the issue. If the misfire stays at 3 you have another problem

the injector on the side that sprays I noticed it has a plastic or rubber little boot for lack of not knowing proper name I got the big rubber donut that goes on bottom and the o ring for fuel rail. @@2zzlow In my case got a 2004 Toyota Corolla, manual reads to lift back seat to get to fuel pump, disconnect the electrical, crank engine to depressurize few times, then disconnect negative on the battery; it does not even mention the EFI fuse which would be easier but I guess there is a reason, have to do that this morning to replace those Chinese injectors I installed Nov 18 with the OEM ones which seems fine, measure yesterday and were ok because the cheapo ones are misfiring like crazy after 2 tanks of gas the first with fuel cleaner for the system; went crazy chasing all sort of misfiring codes and discover it may be injectors after looking the new iridium spark plugs looking newer than when were installed as car is running lean as hell; got to love this mechanic affairs!
