How To Replace Mercedes License Plate Bulb(C300) FCP Euro

Hallelujah! I have a 2009 C300 and I would get the error messages constantly on my left tag bulb but after smacking the bulb it would turn on. Last week, my right bulb message would appear but smacking it would not help so I followed these directions and voila! they both now work flawlessly. I get so excited when instruction videos like this one are easy to understand and go through each step that even a dummy like me can understand. It took approximately 20-30 minutes. Thank you very much. This video is highly recommended!

Thank you very much! I followed the instructions to replace the bulb of my 2010 E350 Coupe. Everything worked well, but the plastic rivets in my car were slightly different and more difficult to take out. In the end, I was successful and the total cost was less than $1!!

I have a 2010 E550 and these directions worked PERFECTLY!!! Bulb was a little loose so only time will tell if the fix works or i need to get a new bulb. Thanks.

Great explanation - worked that way as shown. 1 tiny advice: the clip removal becomes easier. by using a curved pliers or what we call telephone pliers with small tips you can push under the clips after first clip removal progress with a small, wide screedriver is achieved. thanks a lot - from germany

At my first dealership job we got payed 0.3hr to replace any* peanut bulb, that came out to three dollars in my pocket before taxes. The filaments get worn on these bulbs, if they're out and you tap them they work, but will go out again, we would replace the bulb and pull the contacts closer together to improve contact.

depends on quality expectations Cheap one will get loose, rattle and so on. Here all parts were dry , rust free and fixed after 400.000 km in 8 years.

If you want change LED Light box and not only LED bulb u have to make out the chrome trim and the piece behind it

Bloody hell ... what happened to the days of unscrewing one or two screws and replacing the bulb?? Two minute job. I can see now why I don't own a Mercedes.

Thanks for the demo. I have a loose bulb, and this I know, since I can go back and tap on it and it will light up again. Really annoying. This is as a result of the "stealership" doing a recall having to do with some possible corrosion back there. My wife agreed to take the car in, since I didn't want to set foot in the place. Now sure enough, I have an issue. Not going to the dealership either. Once again, many thanks. Now at least I know what to do if I decide to do it.

spacesaverbob By all means do it. Not worth seeing that stupid error message every time you start the car. Buy a small pack of W5W bulbs, a screwdriver and the T bit and you're good to go.

I have Mercedes S W221. Instead of plastic drills in the from surface, they are from the inside part. It's very ilogical to change a light you must unmount too much components. This is only to give money to the mechanichs of the brand. Next car, japanese.
