This video shows you how to install an oil pan on your 1999-2005 Volkswagen Jetta. The oil pan holds engine oil to be pumped up to the engine. A leaky or damaged oil pan will lead to low oil levels, or no oil at all, which can cause major damage to your vehicle's engine.

The two bolts you can't get to with a 10mm can be removed with a 5mm wobbly Alan wrench with the ball on the end. It bugs me to no end that he skipped this.

Great video! I was at a Firestone place and the mechanic told me it would cost $700 to replace the oil pan on my 2004 VW Jetta. I looked up the price of an oil pan, which ranges from $83 - $115 (at AutoZone). I realize labor is expensive, but $600?? That's crazy!

I finished this today. I know it’s been mentioned already in the comments, but I used a wobble allan key with a pair of vise grips to crack them loose. Worked surprisingly well. Happy the end on my key didn’t break off either.

I'm having a Jetta Mk4 and I'm trying to remove the oil pan Bcos the 2 bolts in the middle the side of the gearbox are difficult to get them loose.. what can I use

Allen wrench with ball end and a box wrench on the end of that will twist it off.
