Thank you for your video. I had the same codes on an 2004 Acura TL. The sensor was in basically the same place. The hardest part was getting the connector loose, and that was the part you somewhat glossed over. Once you unmount the bracket, there is a clip that needs to be released with a small screwdriver to let the connectors slide off the bracket. After that it easy to unclip the connector, remove the old O2 sensor and then reverse the procedure with a new one. Note that the Acura manual calls this O2 an Air/Fuel sensor and is 5 pins. The HO2S or heated O2 sensors are 4 pins. Those are much more difficult to reach, so glad at least that it was this sensor that failed.

what nobody mentions is to get the oxygen sensor clip off of the bracket, you need to take a small screwdriver from the underside of the back of the plug on the side that is toward the engine against the bracket stick the screwdriver up the slot, which will release it from the bracket. I was never able to get off the bottom green cabled o2 sensor cable, and was able to perform the change without difficulty.

Thanks a million for this comment R Wilco! I have a 2007 Acura TL Type S and I was really struggling to get the connector off. I decided to look at this video and these comments to see if there was some additional help for me and your comment did the trick exactly! A few minutes later, I had the old sensor out of the car!

One thing I would add to that comment is when you stick the screwdriver in the slot, push the connector downward to remove it from the bracket.

Great video. Just a suggestion: turn down the music or use none at all. It is difficult to hear instructions.

Most likey you have an expensive high quality stereo headphone which will bring out music much stronger than expected. Try a regular ear phone and see the difference of the way it was recorded.

Is it in the front or behind the middle ignition coil?

Also where is the plug to put the code reader? 😬

As shown in the video, the radiator was right in front of the oxygen sensor and the connector right next to the alternator.

What size is the oxygen sensor socket?
@tgmac82885 жыл бұрын
The best is to call to check it out from your auto parts store. They can verify that easy with no mistake!

Should’ve backed the camera up some to see the location of o2 sensor. Zoom out!! Otherwise great video. Thumbs up.
@tgmac82883 жыл бұрын
The o2 senor was quite low in position and not much space away from radiator. The camera had to be raised pretty high vertically and the result was the o2 sensor was to small to be seen. That was the best to be accomplished.

Open the hood. Look straight down. It should be between the engine and radiator of which face to the radiator fan and also below the spark plugs.

You need to show where this is in the engine compartment otherwise it's useless.

Do you really own an Acura MDX? What year model do you have? I am really curious why you have an issue like this after this was viewed over 57000 viewers since August 2014?
@DerekHoiem6 жыл бұрын
tgmac8288 yes I do. I have one of the earliest models of the new design that was rolled out in 2007. I have over 200,000 miles on it and it's running strong. This car will easily go 300,000 miles but it needs TLC and going to dealers for repair with this old of a car isn't worth it. So I maintain it myself. Acura makes an incredible product and I never thought I'd get to 300,000 miles with a car, but it looks like I'll easily get there.

Yes.

Yeah! We need to watch all over the top of the engine, to see exactly where is the sensors.....I know this one is the upstream.... But for people don't know much about the location!!! Thanks for you video! Keep up!!
