If you have a leak spraying out of the seal between the pool pump housing and the motor assembly, you probably need to replace the housing gasket between the two units. We recommend that when you pull the pool pump motor assembly to replace this gasket, you also replace the diffuser gasket within the motor assembly.

Good catch. The script was written for a Hayward Super II, which has 6 bolts. However, they used a Super Pump. The general guidelines should still apply to most pumps.

Do you have to empty the hot tub to take the pump out ? Will the water squirt everywhere?

If you don't have isolation valves, you'll need to drain the hot tub. Water will spray out if you don't have valves to shut off the flow of water.

If it still leaks, can I use a flange gasket, which goes between the two major parts coming together for bolting. Have a new Centurion B836 2Horsie and slightly leaking under (no more tightening).

If it's leaking between the seal plate and pump housing, you should replace the flange/housing gasket. If it's leaking between the motor and seal plate, the issue is the shaft seal.
