Nice fix. You're slowly but surely getting that PT back into tip top shape. When you spun up that old motor, it didn't sound too healthy so might have been on its way out anyway. Thanks!

+Baxrok2 luckily on this car it makes a ding noise from the dash once it approaches the red, which is a good thing most people don't have a habit of keeping a close eye on the guages . But watching guages is always best I've even seen them barely get overheated and by that point the damage was done . A cheap relay fan etc can cause thousands in damage in a hurry . I had one that the fan worked but must have been bad because it kept blowing the relays out . After wasting time placing relays I finely replaced the whole fan assembly . I've been pretty happy with this car for the most part there's just been a few bugs to work out . Thanks again for watching

Seems like the best way to go with fan problems is to measure the current draw from the fan. I think above 12 amps or so can be problematic. A cheapo current clamp can come in handy. Thanks!

Thanks for the broadcast . What was the sensor and what is it for in the front of the care after you removed the grill?

I know this vid is old but it's a great video I've watched a few and your video was right up there. I have 03 Pt Cruiser GT (Turbo) which has a variable speed fan. Problem is when I drive the car around it warms up like normal on the gauge. But after driving down freeway at 100 km/63 mph speed limit. Then having to stop at a traffic light; I can hear my fan goin so fast it almost sounds like about to blow up. The temp gauge is still reading normal though. Got home checked the levels to make sure my rad was full of antifreeze and coolant reservoir levels were fine. This has happened a couple times before but not all the time; it's finicky. I have pretty much done everything I could have checked oh and there are no codes coming up. Is it just a fan that's no good? What's your opinion?

If the temperature is good I would not worry about it . Thank you for the feedback.

where is the relay switch
@s33therfan6 жыл бұрын
Depending on the year of your pt cruiser it will either be located in the fuse box in the engine compartment or on the fan shroud itself . You'll have 2 relays . A high speed and a low . Now there is also a fuse itself located in the fuse box in the engine compartment . Hope this helps and thanks for watching
