Thanks for these PT Cruiser videos. My daughter inherited her grandfathers 2006 Cruiser and it has the idling/ac issue. Kept hearing replace the compressor but I checked the freon levels and checked the compressor both are fine. This has to be the issue.

It's kind of ironic you posted this video I have a 03 PT cruiser with an ac problem,mechanic told me it would be $150 just to hook it up to his machine to do an air conditioning tune up and he wouldn't guarantee that would fix my problem. I ordered the low speed relay and swapped the others around I found out the low speed fan is not working so I am going to order a new one , thanks for posting this

Great job diagnosing it yourself . These relays and fans are a big problem on these pt cruisers , I've seen several whether it's relays or fans . But it's good you caught it early on and saved a lot of money in the process . Thank you for watching

Thanks so much for this video! My 2005 non-turbo PT was having the rough idle/hot AC problem. After checking the fan fuse and the fan relays (my fan relays are in the fuse box. Not mounted on the fan assembly) and finding them all to be functioning correctly, I found the problem to be the fan motor itself. Your video made it super easy to replace the fan assembly! 😁

ello Everyone. !!! take it from a guy who's on the PT Cruiser from almost the very first run and unfortunately yeah I kept on with this whole time so let me give you a little bit of advice on your cooling system. I guarantee you it's one of your fans are not working if your vehicle is overheating the reason why is because the CPU or the ECU in this car is notorious for not actually running the fans and on top of that having an issue where it affects it inside the actual ECU because the ECU and the previous body control module which used to kind of control this kind of stuff and having separate module that actually work they decide to go and put it all in one and now we have the problem that we have today. if your car is overheating I guarantee you it's probably your fan first in fact a quick way around that is simply jumper the fan when you get into the vehicle and see if that actually helps you were on the low side basically either get a jump a relay from the junkyard from a Chrysler Town & Country which only has two prongs or just basically make your own it's really simple it's one wire to one pin and one wire to the other pin I forgot which pins but I'm sure you can figure it out. next has to be the absolutely stupid freaking dang place of the put the thermostat and I honestly hate it oh my God I can't tell you how much I hate that thermostat but anyways even though you get the little rubber gasket thing that's on the thermostat it will still leak and you know what that's exactly what's happened to me even though I bought a brand new one and oh my God it's still doing it. One of the reasons for this is that the actual plastic housing gets warped so it's just one of those other things you have to deal with. the other really problem Place quite honestly has to be that the radiator itself off and has a pinhole leak right there where the battery is and this is another place where you're cool usually leaks out to so take a look at that. if anyone has put that stupid dastardly crap that seals your radiator go ahead and honestly think about flushing your system out repeatedly until it's completely out and think about possibly removing sadly your heater core because that's exactly where it plugs and there's this little valve that actually plugs and of course causes it to overheat. if you want to do all this without replacing your you see you the best thing to do is quite honestly going to eBay and get yourself a little fan controller and just use that every time the car turns on the fan goes on and that really is just the way to go as far as your water leaking you're really going to have to find every single week and then after that go from there but that's really about it and you know what it's just a pain in the ass it can be fixed but these are some quick measures that should get you going cheaply and get you down the road

One question is why wouldnt you have tested the rad fan while it was still in vehicle, if it tested good it would save a lot of work???

Thanks for broadcast what is that temperature sensor called does it effect your A/C? Do you have part number mine is a 2005. What does the air sensor in the front where you ssid the useless part on the car is between the rad and grill.
@s33therfan3 жыл бұрын
It is the ambient temperature sensor AX75. I know on a lot of cars the fan won't even come on if it is disconnected or faulty I suppose. I know pt cruisers have had major problems with the fans going bad ( high and low) and relays. Thanks for watching.

And all wires are fine, all sensors are fine, fuel, spark is good, timing is good, and does not start, pt cruiser piece of crop.
@Mrguy-ds9lr2 жыл бұрын
Why didn't you just go to the relay in the fuse box and test fan?

I agree, my pt cruiser's temperature goes high before I turn on the key on, and the car will not start, it only cranks. I change the water sensors

I’ve done all this and it over heats anyway and very quickly
