I learned many years ago to save a lot of money, buy a forced air furnace filter, cut it to size & install it. From 1 furnace filter, you can make 6 filters for your vehicle.

I’ve never heard about that technique. But sounds pretty interesting. As long as your getting a good seal with the air box I’m sure it could work 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Awesome. My cord was disconnected thought the glove box was broke and I had cold air but it wasn’t blowing strong. Can’t wait to try it with this new filter. Thanks for the video

@@FortKnoxCo blowing strong today and I can hang meat in the cab of that truck if I wanted. The glove box is now attached properly, so when I open it it doesn’t fall to the floor board. Just wish I would have figured this out about June in stead of August.

You could pick up the filters from many places. I usually try to find the cheaper cost but overall they are pretty close to the same

My truck don’t have the filter and my air is not blowing good like it was before do we add the filter to do the air better??

If your truck does not have the door to pop open and put the air filter in, you can cut out the shape there and they sell a filter and door kit. I should have the link in my description. My truck right now is the same where I need to cut it open and then put the new door in. I’m not sure if it will help your airflow, but it will help your air quality. If your airflow is not working well, then there could be a different issue with the fan or something plugging up the pathway.

Your welcome! I had the 2016 2500 and it had the filter slot. I now have a 2011 2500 and it doesn’t not. No I’ll be putting in the kit that goes in the trucks that doesn’t come from factory with the opening and cover. So if your interested keep an eye out soon. I’ll have the video up and the walk through on how to install it. It’s pretty easy and not expensive at all.

@@dallon507 yeah I think it’s kind of funny that they have the exact little cut out spot for it but just don’t cut it out unless the option is selected for the truck build I guess. Makes no sense. It be easier just to do it on all of them

@@edlopez93 if it doesn’t have the cover installed and it’s a solid panel with no access then there’s no filter. But there’s a kit that has the cover and filter. It’s really easy to install and the. You can have the filter installed.

So there is the door there? And then there’s those two tabs on the sides that you’re pushing? You’re saying that those aren’t moving? As long as that access door is there and it has those tabs you should be able to push them in and pull the door out. Maybe use a flat head screwdriver to help wedge in between there and when you push in the tabs, you can pry open that door maybe pop it out

@@FortKnoxCo 😂 I hear that. I picked up a really good looking 2012 2500 a couple weeks ago so it's still looking all shiny and nice. I'll have put about 9k miles on it by Christmas so I imagine mine will be about the same by that point, maybe worse.

@@carlyslecomfort7317 that’s a nice find. I found this 2011 with only 101k miles on it. I liked the low mileage and also no DEF. I think 2011 & 2012 were the last years before the DEF.

@@FortKnoxCo No DEF was a huge reason for me going with the silver 2012 over a newer one that was pretty much equal in every aspect except for a gorgeous, rich, deep red color. I do like the silver though.

If the door is there with the tabs, you should be able to push them in and pull the door out. Try a flat head screwdriver and see if that helps. Kind of wedge it out.

@@FortKnoxCo did exactly that. Grabbed a flat head and they still wouldn’t move. 3 of us tried. All of us watched the video and agreed that it matches our truck. Still can’t get it to move. My buddy is a mechanic and he’ll take a look at it Wednesday. At least we know where to look! Lol
